Can you find the HTML comment <!-- Automatic Post Date Filler --> in the source code of the post editor page?

Hello, yes, the plugin should work with custom post types as well.

I use MS Excel to prepare the keywords.

That might be the problem. When I opened the file you sent me in a simple text editor (you can use Notepad or something like that), I saw that the first 5 lines weren’t CSV, and that’s why the import has failed. When these lines are deleted, everything should be okay.

The next version will be able to recognize the structure and tell you what’s going on instead of assuming that the file is CSV (even if it really isn’t) and attempting import, so hopefully there will be less confusion; sorry about that.

UTF-8 characters are supported, so this shouldn’t be a problem. What editor do you use to save these keywords as CSV?

Could you please send me the file with the keywords you are unable to import? My Gmail ID is “devtard”.

By the way, there’s another way to import keywords: You can change the option “Keyword editor mode” to “Single input field for all keywords”. Please try to save the keyword sample from my post via the textarea that will appear in the Keyword editor and let me know what happens.

You are using the version 1.7, right? Have you tried importing the keywords from my previous post?

The next version will be released sometimes in June. Keyword import should work just fine in the current version, though (assuming you’re importing files with the correct structure).

APT v1.7 isn’t able to recognize the structure, so it’s possible it might tell you that the import was successful even if it wasn’t – that was the bug I was referring to.

However, when I try importing keywords from your original post, the plugin does import something – this: https://devtard.files.wordpress.com/2015/05/screenshot-2.png

Could you please post here a screencast or a few screenshots so that I have a better idea of what’s going on?

    Try the following:

    apples,"apple,apple pie"
    carrots,carrot
    lemons,"lemon*,lemon juice"
    oranges,orange

The first keyword is the name, the following value separated by a comma are related keywords. If you have more of them, they have to be enclosed in quotes. The same applies if the keyword consists of more words separated by spaces – see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comma-separated_values#Basic_rules_and_examples.

Sorry about that bug, it’ll be fixed in the next version.

    Clorith: Understood.

I did change back hierarchical to false, and now its working again! I’d off cource prefer if the plugin would work with hierarchical, but I can live with this… Thannk you for the help!

    Cool, glad to hear that.

The plugin is amazing by the way, and if you decide to make premium version i’d be happy to pay for it.

Thanks, I’m flattered 🙂 Well, if you tell me how to replicate the issue (I need to know what keywords you’re using, how this taxonomy looks like etc.), I’ll see what I can do. Feel free to contact me via email.

Hm, I just reaized that I made two changes in the taxonomy that I used about the same time as SPT stopped working:

    1. I made it show up in the admin column
    2. I made it Hierarchical to make it easier to add tags manually.

Do you Think that this is what mess things up?

No idea, but it’s possible. Try changing it back; if that doesn’t help, send me the login information, I’ll check it out (I don’t need access to your admin account; create some temporary account that has permissions to manage options, so that you can delete it afterwards).

    (@devtard)

    1) Have you updated the autoblogging plugin recently?
    2) What happens when you update posts manually via the post editor, do they get tagged correctly or not?

It’s difficult to say what’s wrong with the plugin without more information. Could you maybe send me a screenshot of the settings and some sample data (examples of problematic post content and exported keywords) so that I can test this, if that’s okay? (My Gmail ID is “devtard”.)

    Plugin Author Devtard

    (@devtard)

I would have to dig deeper to find out how this can be done; right now v1.8 (and v1.7 with certain limitations) can only add tags and categories to products.

Could you please give me your email address or send me a message (my Gmail ID is “devtard”) so that we could discuss the details?

    Plugin Author Devtard

    (@devtard)

Ah, okay, now I think I know what you are talking about. But since this is the first time I’ve installed this plugin and have no idea how it works, right now I don’t think I’m more informed than you 🙂

So I guess you want APT to add attributes with specific values to products if certain keywords are found in the post title/body content/other post fields, correct?

    Plugin Author Devtard

    (@devtard)

Hi, I’m glad you like it!

But I’ve got a question: Is it possible run the plugin setting attributes too?

I’m not sure if I understand your question, could you please elaborate?

    Plugin Author Devtard

    (@devtard)

Okay, please send me an email (my Gmail ID is “devtard”) or give me your email address, and we’ll discuss the details.

    (@devtard)

Hi, this could be done, of course, but I don’t see how this would be useful to users. Why would you want to set past dates to your posts, could you please explain?

    Plugin Author Devtard

    (@devtard)

Actually the plugin did work ! without removing the tags from IFTTT recipes , may be it was bugged yesterday or I did not use the suitable keywords.

Ah, cool! I’ll have to check this service out; if it really works with APT, then I’ll add it to the list of compatible post import tools which will be included in the next version’s readme file.

Your plugin idea is perfect and it needs some hard work and you can sell it for a pro version.

While I’m flattered that you think that, I actually don’t plan selling this. I created this plugin precisely because there were no (decent) free autotagging tools available.

Thank you for your kind review.
