In reply to: [Post Rotation] Idea for to-do listHello again.
Please let me know:
Does the plugin (administration panel) correctly anticipates what is going to be altered?
Do you agree with what is displayed there?
Does the plugin complete the announced changes?thanks

In reply to: [Post Rotation] Idea for to-do listI mean: yes, the plugin finds the oldest post looking into the database and sorting posts by ‘post_date’, but it does not matter if the oldest plugin was posted at midnight or at midday, 3 days ago or 3 years ago 🙂
The really important thing is that it must be the oldest.Yes, please, check tomorrow the behaviour and let me know how it works.
You manages a live production WordPress site , so your experience is very useful.Thanks.

In reply to: [Post Rotation] Idea for to-do listFirst time the ‘fixed rotation’ is checked, the plugin still takes the ‘latest post time’ as reference (the same as old versions do); maybe this could explain the behaviour at the begining.
To wait till midnight won´t help, because the plugin will takes as reference:
-with ‘fixed rotation’ OFF: most recent post time.
-with ‘fixed rottion’ ON: latest rotation time (once ‘latest rotation time’ is saved into the database), so it won´t matter how many new articles would be published; the rotation won´t be delayed (the goal of the new option). But it never takes the original post time you want to be rotated into consideration. It only mind if that post is the oldest one that matches into a selected category.
Remember: the administration panel anticipates the next change, so you can view if things are going as expected or not.
Hope this helps.

In reply to: [Post Rotation] Idea for to-do listHello. I´ll explain a bit how this new feature works:
First time the ‘fixed rotation’ is checked, the plugin still takes the ‘latest post time’ as reference (the same as old versions do),but on next rotation it saves a ‘latest rotation time’ data into the database. Then, for the next times, the plugin will take the ‘latest rotation time’ instead of the ‘latest post time’ as reference, and this will avoid delay in the rotation (this is the goal of this new feature) if you manually add new posts.
Please, check the plugin’s behaviour for the next few days and let me know how this evolves.
Thanks.

In reply to: [Already Existing Tags] Error: preg_matchHello again.
I´m afraid that the issue is at your server side. Maybe this issue is related with your PHP or MySQL configuration.
BTW, you’re running an old and unsupported PHP version:
http://php.net/eol.phpAre you using utf8 charset in your database?
Could you upgrade to a most recent PHP version? Please let me know how this evolves.

In reply to: [Post Rotation] Idea for to-do listHello.
I´ll try to add that option in the future, I´ll do my best, but I can’t guarantee it as a Christmas gift 🙂
Thank you for your interest in the plugin.Forum: Plugins

In reply to: [Post Rotation] How do I actually use this?Glad to hear you made it work 🙂

In reply to: [Post Rotation] How do I actually use this?In example, if you create a category for the posts you want rotate, only those posts will be altered (the oldest will become the most recent).
If you want different featured posts rotating on your main page (displaying one at once), I´m afraid this plugin will not met your needs because it only modifies post_date and post_modifed.

In reply to: [Post Rotation] Setting acurate rotation time/hourThis question has been answered directly through the contact form on my website.
It can help others, so the conclusion is:
Originally, the idea is to avoid so long time without new posts, but (at least for now) if a new post is added (of any category), the rotation (the oldest post from the selected category) will be delayed.
Thank you Jacek and please excuse the delay!
