I understand you’re solution, but it just seems that is a hoop I shouldn’t need to jump through. I have found another popular SEO plugin that seems to work seamlessly with Divi and this problem doesn’t occur. Out of respect, I won’t mention the plugin because I don’t want this reply to appear as an endorsement of one plugin over another. I have simply found a solution to my needs.
Thank you for your very thorough and easy to understand explanation. That said, it’s frustrating and disappointing that Yoast is limited in the ways you described. At this point my best option is to seek a different SEO plugin solution.
To clarify, I’m using the Divi theme, not the Divi builder.
Yeah that was a different issue…Google added a setting to select if the it was in “production” phase or “testing” phase.
I have been given the client ID and client secret. I’ve set up these SMTPs at least a dozen times and have not encountered this issue before. The next step should be to click on “Grant permission with Google”, but again, that option is not selectable.
If I reinstall the plugin will I need to do the complete authorization process again?
My apologies Tim, I didn’t know, and didn’t think to tag it.
No, it had no affect.
Here are the Actions options:
Grant Permission with Google (which I’m unable to select)
Sent a Test Email
Import/export/reset pluginsI have both the client ID and client secret, and my “Publishing Status” has been set to “in production”
Since my last post I checked 9 other websites where I had zero problems with setting up WP Mail or getting Google authorization. And what’s strange is that on all of them the “publishing status” section to switch to production mode isn’t present (I couldn’t find it on the OAuth Consent Screen). It was only present on the one website I had trouble with. Perhaps it’s only visible when an Error 403 is issued?
Thanks again for your help!
Your suggestion worked! The “Publishing status” section is located on the OAuth Consent Screen. It was set to “testing”, so I changed the setting to “published”. Here is a link to a screen grab:https://nimb.ws/nqp3VB
No, I am not logged into any other email accounts. And yes, I am selecting the correct Google account. The error message is the same
The message is appearing on the final step after i have entered the client ID and client secret. So yes, the 403 error message displays immediately upon clicking the button to “allow plugin to send emails using Google account”. I have also tried to create a new API project and complete the process again but I continue to get the same message.
