In reply to: When or Never?Hi esmi… Thanks for asking for clarification. Perhaps the “jump through hoops”, wording could be a little strong, as I’m sure some may take it out of context in a negative sense.
How about “One ring to rule them all” Instead of changing a bunch of settings (e.g.) comments on/off, static pages etc. a one button one click option in the main dashboard area?

You have a product you want the masses/customers paying(in some instances) and non-paying to use, so listen to what were saying.
To clarify, forum moderators are not normally core contributors. If they’re disliking comments it is unlikely to be because the comments give negative feedback to WordPress core.

ww.wp.xz.cn distributes free software. If they are paying for something then it is not from ww.wp.xz.cn. I wouldn’t call the WordPress user base “customers” of WordPress.
They may well be customers of agencies that sell website services, but in that case those agencies should be more than prepared and capable for changes in WordPress that affect their customers.A top down management style never works.
WordPress is not a business or an organisation, it’s an open-source project ran by a community of volunteers.
I rest my case… 🙁

Lots of themes seem to dismiss short codes on the front page which is odd IMO. (i.e) Many users would like to be able to pull posts into their front pages via short codes.
