    Hi

I have now got my host to resolve the permissions issue so I can upload images.

I still think its odd as all images just load into wp-content/uploads. From the documentation I would have expected sub directories (I suspect these are suppressed by my host not allowing php to create new directories).

I have accepted that this is the best I can get until I understand some more by learning more over time.

Thanks Esmi for your help, its really appreciated especially when knowledgeable user such as yourself take the trouble to help beginners with what must seem to you to be an obvious solution.

    Hi
After chasing my host provider the only answers I have got are:

1.We do have many users who are running wordpress based blogs on our hosting platform.
I would guide you to http://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/Installing_WordPress.

2.(Call Transferred) Eclipse runs PHP Safemode ON
which basically removes PHP’s ability to write files to the FTP space in our setup
If possible configure WordPress to use FTP and manually upload data via FTP

As I used the link in 1 above to guide me when setting up originally this did not seem helpful. After responding to them I got the second answer after four days. This also does not seem helpful to me as it removes all ability to use wordpress functionality to upload images, also I do not see how they are referenced by wordpress as when just ftping an image into a directory it does not seem to get included in the wordpress lists.. Can anyone shed any light on this as at present I have only two options, give up wordpress of change hosting provider.

    Hi Esmi
I have now got the twenty eleven back by changing the directory attributes to 777. However when I try to upload the header get the error message

The uploaded file could not be moved to /filer/1/en-www/8XA4YAKKYNLSDDJF/www.turkhead.com/wp-content/uploads.

However the website now loads on the other browser.

I have deleted the manually created uploads directory and its files and changed the wp-contents directory permissions to 766.
I seem to have lost the twenty eleven theme despite it still being there in the directory structure. The home page will also not load in a separate browser.
I have also deleted the files from the media section and all links to pictures from pages but still seem to have a problem.

    Hi
I’m not sure if my problem is the same as this thread. I am having problems getting my header image to display. I am using the header page under the Appearance tab to upload the required file which wordpress then crops to 1000×288 but then returns a blank screen.
The image is being uploaded into media but I can not select it to be used as a header image.
Also the standard uploaded images in the theme do not show in my media library so can not be deleted as per my understanding of the above solution.
    Any help gratefully accepted.
