The short code issue and the cart widget issue do not seem to be dependent on themes or other plugins. I could really use some help with this.

I converted this shopping cart from Cart66 and this page was already set up. We liked the layout with the product images lined up on the right. It seemed quicker to just put in the short code rather than try to adjust the regular shop page. If that is what I have to do, then I will.
Thanks for the lead on the SSL issue. I will follow up on that. (I also set up SSL at the same time I converted to Woocommerce)
