@salvamb I think you accidentally marked this ticket as resolved.

Using version 1.9.15

The issue seems to be that even though add_hook is available, it subsequently runs describe_callable, which is _not_ available. Like I said, though, seems a bit like an upstream problem that you would want to temporarily work around.

The issue I’ve encountered happens specifically on page load. So go ahead and set the order status to, for example, completed and then save the order. When the page refreshes you should notice that the order still says processing, even though the order status was in fact updated successfully.

I was able to solve this by manually changing the URL and adding the /wp. This allowed Site Kit to set up properly and, so far as I can tell, flushed something on the Google end so that if I reset Site Kit, I was able to set it up again without issue.

Specifically, the 404 happens after the “Verify Site Ownership” step, hitting the “Proceed” button.

Maybe worth mentioning, if I disable JS in the browser, the dropdown renders the expected option. It’s not until JS (and, presumably, select2) kick in that it shows the wrong selected value. Firefox 96.0.3.

@maybellyne @devnihil I’ll be more specific.

– Use wp-cli to set up a new WordPress install (I don’t think the wp-cli part matters, but wp core download, wp core config ... and wp core install ... will do the trick)
– Double-check that Twenty Twenty-One theme is activated
– Add a custom post type with this code at the end of the Twenty Twenty-One functions.php file. This code was generated using wp scaffold post-type dog.
– Visit Search Appearance > Content Types, and see the Breadcrumb Archive Title field is available for the “Dog” content type
– Disable breadcrumbs via Search Appearance > Breadcrumbs
– Visit Search Appearance > Content Types, and see the Breadcrumb Archive Title field is unavailable for the “Dog” content type (expected)
– Add add_theme_support('yoast-seo-breadcrumbs'); to the end of the functions.php file for Twenty Twenty-One, the active theme
– See in Search Appearance > Breadcrumbs, the breadcrumbs enable/disable toggle is gone (expected)
– Visit Search Appearance > Content Types, and see the Breadcrumb Archive Title field is still unavailable for the “Dog” content type (unexpected)

Which means you cannot alter the breadcrumb title for a custom post type if the theme declares breadcrumb support, but the database option for breadcrumbs has them disabled.

Howdy @richplugins,

To answer your question:

The entire X.Y.Z versioning system is based on something called semantic versioning. Per the guidelines for semantic versioning, you should only cut a 2.0.0 release if you’re making backwards-compatibility breaking changes to the “public API”, whatever you determine that is for your plugin.

If you wanted to cut an immediate release simply to fix the versioning issue, I would cut version 1.50.0, which would be greater than 1.9.9 and 1.49. You wouldn’t even have to change any of the plugin logic. Simply update the version.

I would not cut a 2.0.0 release until you have this new major update ready.

But technically, those are just guidelines. Even WordPress core doesn’t really follow semver, which I personally find frustrating.

Yeah we already fixed that. Like I said, my concern is that WooCommerce doesn’t send an email when an order is cancelled because it never heard back from PayPal.

Yeah this is 100% causing issues with logic from another plugin that fires on processing orders. If this were resolved, that would be really helpful, but I’ll be trying to make adjustments on our end in the meantime.

@joostvandevijver Thanks for the note. While it isn’t causing orders to fail, it is limiting some of our logistical options working with Modern Tribe’s Event Tickets Plus. Attendee data is tied to orders, and since an order is being created, we have to disable certain features of the ticketing plugin to ensure folks aren’t set up as attendees for these defective orders.

@wpexplorer Maybe obfuscate the keyname and just have a button that re-randomizes it? Then the wording is much more non-technical-user-friendly: “Click to refresh notification bar for users who have dismissed it.” or something.
