In reply to: [GeneratePress] Too many font requestsThank you once again for the information David. Highly appreciated.
I have updated the Generatepress settings quite a bit of time ago and set the theme to load only 300 and 500 for Roboto. But for some reason the font file doesn’t seem to update. Can I delete the file with all the different variations somehow?

In reply to: [Polylang] Moving hreflang tags higher up in the HTMLhttps://wpml.org/documentation/support/adding-hreflang-wordpress/
Here is how WPML is dealing with hreflang tags:
When you use WPML to build multilingual WordPress sites, you get the hreflang attributes automatically. By default, WPML will add hreflang as close as possible to the beginning of the <head> section. You can control it from WPML -> Languages -> SEO Options.
And they are doing this because Google will not detect the tags when they are too low in the head section.

In reply to: [Polylang] Your site has no hreflang tagsA note to the Polylang developers: you simply need to update your plugin so that the hreflang tags will be higher up in the page html.

In reply to: [GeneratePress] hreflang tagsThank you David. I have a meeting with a friend of mine who is a professional coder. We will try to fix this with him. I don’t think it’s up to Google to recrawl the site as these codes have been there for more than a year. I read on WPML support site that Google has changed something in their crawling and it cannot detect codes that are too far down in the page html.

In reply to: [GeneratePress] hreflang tagsSo adding the hreflang codes just manually to the header will not solve the problem?

In reply to: [GeneratePress] hreflang tagsThanks David. I have read that one earlier. So there is basically nothing that I can do even within the code to fix it? Basically changing to another plugin would be the only option to solve it?

In reply to: [Polylang] Your site has no hreflang tagsAn update to this: the site seems to have the hreflang tags but apparently they are so far down in the html code that Google isn’t able to find them. Any idea how I could move them higher?

In reply to: [GeneratePress] hreflang tagsHello David,
Thank you for the reply. I have tried contacting the Polylang support but haven’t received a reply. I think their support is basically down. Is there any way that you would be able to help me out?

In reply to: [Polylang] Your site has no hreflang tagsThe Merkle tool is giving me an error for the Finnish version, which doesn’t seem to be indexable because there is a “non-self-referencing url in html”. Anyone has any idea on how to fix this?
