Yes, that issue and the “Jetpack Problem” notification on the “My Sites” section of WordPress.com.
Okay, will look forward to your update. Thanks for all the help!
I’m not sure why that doesn’t work for you. I was able to Like another one of your posts just now. Could you try to log out of your account, and see if the Like Button starts appearing?
I can see the like button now and I was able to receive a notification of your like again, but the indexing request still appears as queued and waiting. I guess I’ll just wait this out since it doesn’t seem to be affecting any site function, anyway.
Regarding the Jetpack connection and embeddable WordPress follow button… it’s been past 72 hours now (~84 hours, even) since I pointed my domain’s name servers to Bluehost’s, but the error message on the debugging page still fluctuates. The error message on the My Sites page is constant, though.

WordPress.com – My Sites: http://snag.gy/HFMd7.jpgI noticed something on the My Sites page—I checked the URLs of the site icons (my self-hosted blog is supposed to have a different icon yet it was displaying the same icon as the WordPress.com blog), and I found out that they were displaying the exact same image from https://secure.gravatar.com/blavatar/cc41ffce8a5d1dba6b06c86e62aaef49?s=120. Could this have something to do with the embeddable WordPress follow button problem? I tried creating one again, and the button for erikadejesus.com would show a code for erikadjesus.wordpress.com. Here’s a screenshot: http://snag.gy/tujFp.jpg
That seems like a bug indeed. I created an issue so the developers of the app can take a look:
https://github.com/wordpress-mobile/WordPress-iOS/issues/2781Thank you!
It’s still ok on my end, but since your domain name servers were not fully propagated yesterday, that’s not surprising the see issues like that one. Your Jetpack connection works fine now:
http://i.wpne.ws/YVYNIt does on this page http://jetpack.me/support/debug/?url=http%3A%2F%2Ferikadejesus.com but still not on the “My Sites” section of WordPress. I’m going to give it one more day, I guess, because less than 72 hours have passed since I set my domain to point to Bluehost’s name servers. I’ll update you regarding its status when the 72 hours have passed.
Yes, Jetpack Site Icons haven’t been implemented on WordPress.com just yet. That’s on our roadmap, and you’ll soon see the icon under “My Sites” on WordPress.com.
Oh, so that’s why. On the WordPress Reader, however, the option to like and comment don’t appear even though I’ve enabled it. Is that normal? The featured image doesn’t show up, too. I follow a few self-hosted WordPress sites through the reader and I see their featured images from there. How come?
Yes, your theme hides that comment reply title. You can display it again by looking for the following code in your theme’s stylesheet…
Alright, noted! Thanks for the tip!
Your site’s indexation is now complete, and I was able to Like one of your latest posts:
http://i.wpne.ws/YVYJIt still appears as queued and waiting from my end, but I did receive a notification of the like. Does this have an effect on anything? http://snag.gy/jhUbZ.jpg
By the way, regarding the embeddable WordPress follow button… is there any other means for people to follow me the same way they did when I was still on WordPress.com, or do I have no choice but to wait for the button to work and recognize my Jetpack-powered site?
Thank you very much and my apologies for the constant follow-ups! You’ve been so much help (along with Rachel from the WordPress.com support forums)!
Oddly enough, the error is back on the Jetpack debugging page again. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised anymore because this shift from no error-error has happened multiple times today already: http://snag.gy/olWYl.jpg
I’m not doing any technical modifications to the site anymore, so I don’t know what’s causing this at all.
EDIT: Error on the debugging page disappeared again, but is still present on the “My Sites” section of WordPress.com (there was never a time that that error wasn’t present there, if I remember correctly) http://snag.gy/ajWk6.jpg
Could you post a screenshot here so I can see how it looks? You can use http://snag.gy/ to post your screenshots here.
It would also be useful if you could let me know what version of iOS you use, as well as your version of the WordPress app. Here’s what I meant about the WordPress iOS app: http://snag.gy/iDW9H.jpg
I’m using iOS 8.1 and the latest version of the WordPress app.It seems the error is gone now:
http://i.wpne.ws/YU8mI don’t know why the error didn’t appear on your end, but it still does on mine (the updated site icon also isn’t appearing as well): http://snag.gy/yzMLd.jpg
Sometimes the error wouldn’t appear at first, but if I wait for around 1-3 seconds, the error message would reappear. I thought this problem had been solved because the URL http://erikadejesus.com appears on the dropdown list of my blogs instead of the temporary URL (http://54. something), but it still hasn’t.
EDIT: Now the site icon has completely disappeared. http://snag.gy/KmakM.jpg
It’s supposed to appear like this http://snag.gy/FpI56.jpg and it works when I check out my favicon on both Safari and Google Chrome, but it doesn’t appear on that page. They do appear on my end, so I assume you’ve managed to solve the issue by yourself?
http://i.wpne.ws/YUIaYes, I have. The greeting that goes “Leave A Reply” set on the dashboard doesn’t appear, though, even though I set it that way. Is that a theme-related issue or what?
You’ll need to wait a bit more for the button to work, as your domain name servers are not fully propagated. The button generator consequently has a bit of trouble finding your new self-hosted Jetpack-powered site at the moment. I’d suggest that you give it another try tomorrow.
Okay, I will try again tomorrow and I’ll let you know.
Thanks for taking the time to reply in detail. I really appreciate it!
ANOTHER UPDATE: …scratch my last message, the error is gone on the Jetpack debugging page again but the WordPress button is back to saying “Please check you’ve entered the address of a WordPress.com or Jetpack-powered site and try again.”
http://wordpress.com/sites shows that I have a “Jetpack Problem,” though. I am so confused with it right now.
UPDATE: The followers issue has been resolved, but the unknown error is back on the Jetpack debugging page. Also, the embeddable WordPress button is back to redirecting to my old http://erikadjesus.wordpress.com blog again.
URGENT
I have also just recently found out that ALL the followers from http://erikadjesus.wordpress.com that I’ve moved using the “Migrate Followers” button on WordPress.com have been deleted from http://erikadejesus.com since I disconnected and reconnected Jetpack. This is causing me a great deal of panic. SOMEONE HELP.
Hi Jeremy, I’m having a similar issue (and a lot of other issues, unfortunately). No one has replied to my forum post, though. Could you kindly take a look? https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/jetpack-communication-problems-other-errors?replies=2
UPDATE: I’ve fixed some errors by unlinking and re-linking Jetpack from WordPress.com.
(1) The connection error doesn’t appear on the debugging site anymore.
(2) When I log on to WordPress.com and check the “My Sites” section, the updated URL of my self-hosted site (http://erikadejesus.com) appears on the dropdown list instead of the temporary address.
(3) The “Refresh Status” shows “Indexing request queued and waiting…” on the Jetpack site debugger page.Unfortunately, that hasn’t fixed everything. Here are the remaining problems:
(1) When I check the “My Sites” section of my WordPress.com account, the icon and site preview of my self-hosted blog still don’t appear, and the “Jetpack Problem” notice still shows up.
(2) On the WordPress iPhone app, the site icon still doesn’t show and the site title still has the apostrophe appearing as a code.
(3) The “Like Post” section of the post also still shows “Loading” but never loads at all.
(4) The “Follow” and “Follow Comments” buttons on the comment box aren’t appearing.
(5) I can’t create an embeddable WordPress.com button for my self-hosted site. It says “Please check you’ve entered the address of a WordPress.com or Jetpack-powered site and try again.”Why are all these happening even though http://jetpack.me/support/debug/?url=http%3A%2F%2Ferikadejesus.com says “Everything looks great,” then?
Someone please PLEASE reply. It’s been 8 hours and no one has provided me the slightest bit of assistance at all. It’s also been almost 24 hours since I emailed Jetpack support and I haven’t heard anything from them as well. It’s very frustrating.
My mistake, the subscribers have already been transferred via the “Migrate Subscribers” features on WordPress.com. I still don’t have the statistics and likes, though, but okay… I will follow your suggestion and contact the WordPress.com team. Thank you!
