Thanks. The Permalink Fix & Disable Canonical Redirects Pack fixed the problem. I was sweating bullets all afternoon trying everything else I could find on this forum. Eventually I was doing more harm than good, breaking other things. I am not too happy with the wordpress crew for releasing an “upgrade” with such a horrendous bug in it.
