No, that’s really not what I wanted. I can certainly just ‘change their permissions’ and get essentially the same result. We have thousands of posts written by hundreds of writers (most of whom are represented by guest authors within PP). I don’t want to give the current authors the ability to edit any of these posts if they did not write them.
The only workaround I currently have is to create new user accounts for every one of their pseudonyms and give each one separate login credentials so they can edit as the other user if they need to.
I would pay real money if a user (author level) could assign pseudonyms to just their official “user account” (only accessible to them or editor and above) so that they could edit posts as their pseudonym and not need a separate account.Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Transferred from blogspot and videos did not loadI have found the video problem problem will persist after successful migration of the rest of the content (images, posts, permalink restructuring).
First, object tags are stripped on import so your embedded Blogspot videos will not show up in WordPress. That is the first problem.
For a workaround, I addressed the individual original posts with the embedded videos one at a time.
I successfully linked the videos in my migrated wordpress blog individually back to the videos hosted on blogspot (copy/pasting the source code for the individual embeds from blogspot one by one to the corresponding WordPress post) so they appeared as they should in WordPress.
However, the Blogspot url’s are set to expire and will only be valid for a week or so before changing, and then the videos will not play after that.
I found videos uploaded to blogger directly have encrypted url’s which prevent linking or exporting.
Still have not found a solution.
