In reply to: [WriteShare Writing Community Platform] Does exactly what it says it will! Thanks so much for the feedback, AlexG2490. I agree wholeheartedly on the documentation being better. I’m going to be revising it starting in about 2 – 3 weeks. It is simple yet powerful, and we need to do a better job explaining the setup. Look for updates in a few weeks. Thank you!

In reply to: [WriteShare Writing Community Platform] user cant access "submitwritting"Hi there,
Which content type did you selection?
Front end posting should be:
http://yourdomain.com/writeThe listing of writings submitted should be:
http://yourdomain.com/content where content = what you selected in Dashboard > WriteShare > Settings So, if you selected Essays, the url would be http://yourdomain.com/essaysPlease let me know if that works for you.
Thank you.Forum: Plugins

What service! Sorry for the confusion. I’m now using the correct plugin, and it works like a charm. 5 star rating coming up. Thank you!

In reply to: [WriteShare Writing Community Platform] Not Posts, PagesYes, this is a custom post type plugin.
Your suggestion seems to be that of hierarchical taxonomy, not a posts v. pages concept.
Hierarchical taxonomies is on our roadmap for future development, but I’m sure you understand – especially as a free plugin – we cannot develop every element at once or immediately.
We hope you’ll reconsider your rating. Please rate the plugin based on what it is and what we describe it as. The plugin works beautifully, as described.
When rating a plugin based on wishes and hopes, you discourage plugin developers from offering their work to the community.

In reply to: [WriteShare Writing Community Platform] Editing the links URLThanks, Juan. Yours is the first request, I believe, for editing urls. Please see my response to your other post: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/collaborative-writing?replies=1#post-8477076 I’ve made note of your request for “future development.”
Thank you!

In reply to: [WriteShare Writing Community Platform] Collaborative writingHi Juan, and thanks for the suggestion and feedback. Please do rate us here. Positive ratings matter! As you can see, we’re still a newer plugin. We have a list of features we want to add – including collaborative writing – if we find the plugin is well received. As you can imagine, the plugin took significant development, so before pursuing more features, we want to make sure it’s of use to the WordPress community, which is reflected in adoptions and ratings.
Thank you!

In reply to: [WriteShare Writing Community Platform] Proper page navigationWordPress installation is in a sub-directory, not in the URL root. This is causing the problem with navigation. It needs to be installed at the domain root.

In reply to: [WriteShare Writing Community Platform] Proper page navigationI’m not sure what you mean by “needed to trail index.php”
If you selected
fanfic
for your content, then the archive will be at http://yoursite.com/fanficIs that not the case for your archive? If not, can you share the url please? If you don’t want to share it here, please email to hi <at> wpwriteshare.com
Example: http://fanfic.wpwriteshare.com/fanfic/
(note, we are using the subdomamain fanfic before wpwriteshare.com – don’t confuse the two… it’s the second fanfic that indicates the content and archive). At this time, each chapter posts as if a new entry. We do have on the list for future development for each new chapter to simply display as an update to existing book. I do not have an ETA on that at this time, but it will happen at some point.
I am marking this closed as it is testing as fixed.

In reply to: [WriteShare Writing Community Platform] On CategoriesAs this is a free plugin, we have to make decisions regarding development time for each feature, and at this time, we have no plans at this point to develop hierarchical taxonomy.

In reply to: [WriteShare Writing Community Platform] A Few ThingsHi there,
1. Taxonomy is super easy to add. Dashboard > WriteShare > Settings
2. It’s easy to set up books with chapters. To set up sections and subsections within a chapter, it would be best to use internal links to jump to those sections. http://wpwriteshare.com/setup-instructions/fanfic-setup/ (no headphones required)
3. “PS: LoftBuilder currently only works with pages.” So, no, it won’t work. Our plugin utilizes custom post types.
If you have other questions, please do ask. I’ll mark this resolved as of now.
Thank you.
