To confirm, the order itself is successful and you can see that the status is then
processingorcompletedvia WooCommerce > Orders?We’ve seen some reports of this problem and so far, it tends to be caused by a conflict with your theme or with another plugin.
The best way to determine this is to:- Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
- Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
- Repeat the action that is causing the problem
If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

Thanks for including the screenshot – Square is porting that it can’t find the card that you’ve previous saved.
What happens if you remove the card from your saved payment methods (via My Account) – can you then check out correctly?
Also, how many other customers are seeing this problem?

That’s odd – you should indeed be able to do automatic refunds through the Square plugin, without going to your Square dashboard.
Could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response. Feel free to remove identifying information such as the site’s URL.

I did some searching and there haven’t been many other reports of this issue – to help you out more, I’d like some more information.
When you say “in the log”, which log do you mean?
