when i use firebug in firefox for testing this code

background-color: red;
}
1- I add new rule. Link image
2- After adding rule result shown. Link image
All this on testing base.But when i go to Appearance>Editor for edit style.css for adding coding code Link Image
No result gain. Link Image
Kindly tell me that why its not give result when i enter this code in style.css, on the other hand the code works when i check in testing on firebug in firefox.Forum: Themes and Templates

Then i paste the code in style.css. but nothing found.
