Gracias my friend and thanks for the support here.
Ok thankss. We’ll be moving forward with add ons this week and will likely have some questions about those. Should I submit these questions here to the WP forum, or through the website?
Thanks Stiofan.
That works. However this client once we get this all configured is going to require the locations add on as there will be a global directory. Then what?H Stiofan,
Thanks for the assurances. I can confirm for you however that when I set the WordPress home to anything other than GD Home that GD Home does not work.

Ok. I get it now. The widgets won’t work in the sidebars unless GD Home is also WordPress home. Now it’s working. Not sure I like it this way. GD Home shouldn’t have to be the home page of the site. It of course can be the home page of the directory. That’s a given but to make it have to be the home page of the site seems unnecessarily restrictive.
Correction: Got the home left sidebar working after a refresh.
I put text widgets in all the home sidebars.
You can see what I have by going to

Placement doesn’t seem to be correct. Have data in all when using the text widget except for the Home Top.Ok Part of the problem solved by going to gd/design and checking all the boxes. Here’s my results.
Sidebar: GD Home Top – No data displayed, regardless if I use a GD widget or non GD widget. GD Widget will return – An error has occurred. Please reload the page and try again.
Sidebar: GD Home Content – Seems to display data from non GD Widget such as custom menuSidebar: GD Home Right – Display non GD widget data.
There is no GD Left sidebar by the way. as stated in your help section even though I have left section checked in Home/Design settings.
My apologies for misunderstanding. That did the trick. support is awesome by the way and would like to congratulate you on that. I think I can leave you be for the rest of the day so you can enjoy your Saturday.

Stiofan,
I have a Genesis membership, so I can pick any Genesis theme from Studio Press.
I just installed “Infinity Pro” and get a white bar horizontally across the top.
http://bizzaquerque.com/Hi Stiofan,
For the preview at
https://wpgeodirectory.com/downloads/geo-1280-genesis-child-theme/
It shows a map.
I would like to replace the map on the home page with a hi res image.Hi Stiofan, thanks for the update. I think I have a handle on it. Question about the Genesis themes as that is what I prefer. I notice on all the previews that the map is defaulted on the home page. Can this be overridden with standard theme/customization options.
Thanks,
DanOr should I just create a listing with the custom field and then the text box will populate the box?
Do you have a tutorial, or a help document on adding a custom field so I can populate this area? I need a custom field.
Hello Stiofan,
Thanks for the reply.
From Geo Directory/Places Settings under “Pre Defined Field” there’s a text box for custom fields. My assumption was that I could setup a custom field here, but my guess is that I have to set it up somewhere else? That’s the nature of my question. I need to add some custom fields for the places form. Thanks Stiofan
