Will this work on a child theme?

Hi Kharis:

It is not that the code did not work, I just don’t know how to add the text that I want to the header.

I looked under Appearance>Header, did not see a place to add the header text, in any of the options, Type, Slider, Media, Style.

I know it’s a fundamental question, but I really do not know how to add the text.
