In reply to: [Asset CleanUp: Page Speed Booster] WordPress Backend is very slow@sabirtiger I suspect that this is from a few SQL queries that were taking a while to process. I highly suspect that you have a website with lots of users as the queries were made to the “users” table. Please update to the development version! It should fix this. Here’s how to do that: https://www.assetcleanup.com/docs/?p=350
@alonagomez thanks for letting me know about a potential bug! Is there any PHP error printed somewhere such as the error_log file (you should be able to access it from your hosting control panel)? Some print screens would be good to have!
Can you re-enable the latest version in “Test Mode” (from “Settings”) and check the same pages, make some print screens and share them here through a service such as https://imgbb.com/?

In reply to: [Asset CleanUp: Page Speed Booster] Console error on every page on site@thomastolkien @defdas2 I have a suspicion that there might be either a plugin or a combination of settings in Asset CleanUp that somehow strips from the HTML source the actual font. I’ve updated the development version. It checks even deeper any values from the “Settings”. It will never accept any empty ones.
Please replace the version you currently use with the development one, and let me know if this fixes it. If not, further debugging will be required. Here’s how to install the development version: https://www.assetcleanup.com/docs/?p=350
@retrovertigo you are right about that! In some WP environments, this can obviously happen. My sincere apologies for this inconvenience! You’ve discovered a bug that I’ve just fixed by releasing a newer version. Please update and let me know if this fixes it!
PS: Because you reported this bug and saved me time from dealing with other people that might have had the same issue sooner or later, I want to reward you with a Pro license. You can write me privately via https://www.gabelivan.com/contact/ if you will ever be interested in the deal.

In reply to: [Asset CleanUp: Page Speed Booster] 1.3.9.5 cant save Preferences@cper12 to rollback to a previous version, you can follow the steps mentioned here: https://www.assetcleanup.com/docs/rollback-previous-version-asset-cleanup-lite/
Let me know what happens once you do a rollback. I want to know if the update button comes back. So far, no one else reported this, so I’m starting to believe this is an isolated case.

In reply to: [Asset CleanUp: Page Speed Booster] 1.3.9.5 cant save Preferences@cper12 sorry to hear that! I’ve made a few tests on three WordPress environments, and on my end, there are no issues. Can you rollback to version 1.3.9.4? Perhaps the issue is from another plugin/theme and it happened to show up after you updated Asset CleanUp. We need to make sure we exclude other possibilities. Also, consider clearing your browser’s cache.
@rkatibian first, my sincere apologies for not getting back to you sooner! Better now, than never! I’ve been working hard in the past weeks to release a new version of Asset CleanUp and this includes a way to add/remove users (non-admins) that could access the Asset CleanUp area.
If you upgrade to the latest version, go to “Settings” — “Plugin Usage Preferences” — “Plugin Access” and add the non-admin that should have access to the plugin area. No more hardcoded PHP snippets!

In reply to: [Asset CleanUp: Page Speed Booster] Reduce initial server response time@dreamzspl I’ve tested the homepage with PageSpeed Insights, as well as GTmetrix. While you can unload CSS/JS and even whole plugins (this option requires the Pro version) via Asset CleanUp, there are things that are beyond what the plugin does. In my tests (the page is cached as I’m a guest visitor), I’ve got under 600ms for the initial server response time. So, you’re saying you got over 5 seconds. Perhaps, you were logged-in and had extra scripts triggering then.
One thing you can focus is the images. They are quite large and although they have the WebP extension, they are still not fully optimized. For instance, the following image – https://cdn.pawmeal.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Pawmeal-Assorted-Flavours.webp – when saved and uploaded to a service such as https://tinypng.com/ would generate an optimized file that is 27% lower. Try to run a GTmetrix test on the homepage, and you will notice how so many images are there that could be optimized.
As for unloading the CSS/JS that is not needed, there’s no automatic solution from Asset CleanUp and you have to choose the assets that are not needed. If, for instance, you have a plugin that you know is never used on a page, but loads CSS/JS on that page, you could unload its assets, then load the page, and if everything works fine (including on mobile view), then you can leave them unloaded and continuing with trial and error (unloading assets that are likely not needed and testing the pages).

In reply to: [Asset CleanUp: Page Speed Booster] navigation block not opening on mobile@ashharlodhi it looks like the navigation menu does work fine on my tests (in Chrome, Firefox and Safari). Can you let me know how did you actually made the test? Perhaps it doesn’t work when you are logged-in. I tested it as a guest visitor, and it worked fine. Let me know more details about this, so I could investigate this further.
@alonagomez sorry to hear that! Hopefully, this will be fixed ASAP. Are you referring to this plugin: “Youzify – BuddyPress Community, User Profile, Social Network & Membership Plugin for WordPress”? If yes, please let me know which layout is damaged. I need more details about this issue.

In reply to: [Asset CleanUp: Page Speed Booster] Clear cache programmatically@palasthotel my sincere apologies for this late reply! A lot of time has been put into the latest version that was just released (including making lots of tests). The code you found should still work 100%, as the method is there. Perhaps, it was called incorrectly from another plugin.
Can you provide to me more details about this one? How are you actually calling it from another plugin? Are you editing directly an existing plugin instead of using hooks? I assume they are not available or it’s a custom plugin. Let me know at your earliest convenience!
@esales2000 my sincere apologies for not getting back to you sooner for this issue! The latest Asset CleanUp version has just been released, and the issue you’re having was also addressed. Can you please test the plugin after you update it? Let me know if you will still have the same issue.
PS: This has been fixed for both the Lite and the Pro version of the plugin.
@riteshbelievin12 my sincere apologies for not getting back to you sooner! Can you please try now using the latest version of Asset CleanUp? There were plenty of changes made, and no errors were detected that are similar to the one you described. Looking forward to your feedback!

In reply to: [Asset CleanUp: Page Speed Booster] Plugin Update@yasirdeveloper006 The latest plugin version, 1.3.9.4, was released today and has been extensively tested to work with the latest WordPress version: 6.6.1. Let me know if you will have any issues with once you will do the update! Any bugs or incompatibilities (hopefully, isolated cases, as this version has been tested for weeks before this release) will be resolved and added to the next release!

In reply to: [Asset CleanUp: Page Speed Booster] ‘Disable oEmbed’ still shows API route@prestonwordsworth you are right about that! Many thanks for reporting this!
The code was already there actually, but due to a bug, it was just not triggered. This will be added to the next release. Meanwhile, what you can do to have this fixed (until the release will be available) is to download the development version (it was just updated with the fix).
Here’s how to do this (its up to you; if you prefer, you can just wait for the next release and don’t bother further): https://www.assetcleanup.com/docs/?p=350
