I found that there was a couple plugins I had that were not tested with the new version and those may have been the culprits. I made my changes and selected ‘preview’ and was taken to a blank page. * I reselected my admin Dashboard and reselected my post. None of the changes were saved. Made my changes again, and clicked ‘save draft’, was brought to a blank page. * I reselected my admin Dashboard. This time there were two of the same posts. I selected the top one and that had my changes, the other had no changes saved. * I reslected the top post and clicked on ‘preview’ and was able to see my post with all my changes but the permalink structure I had just changed was not being displayed. * I went back to my dashboard and edit post to select ‘publish’, and was brought to a blank screen. * I reselected admin Dashboard and there was the saved post as a draft and not published. * Decided to come here and see what I was doing wrong but it looks like there are a lot of people with a wide variety of problems with upgrades and the functionality of 2.8. Hopefully there is a fix coming along 2.8.1 for everyone! Until then, lots of drafts will be waiting. * Permalinks: changes were saved on my admin dashboard. I have this showing up when I double click on my error icon: * Line: 421 Char: 3 Error: Object expected Code: 0 * I have gone through all the html code thinking I put something in the wrong place somewhere, but I see nothing wrong. The other weird thing is I get a sentence that shows up ‘randomly’ as if it were in my main index php or single post php. Anyone have an idea of what this all means and how I can fix it? I am using IE 7. * I also installed the ‘Tweet This’ Plugin and now have ‘Tweet This Post links Powered by Tweet Theis 1.3.9, a WordPress Plugin for Twitter’ that shows up UNDER my footer. Some of the words that were once in my footer are now displayed after‘ Tweet This Post links Powered by Tweet Theis 1.3.9, a WordPress Plugin for Twitter’. I am thinking that this is the problem? Not sure how to make that go away if it was part of the plugin. I have had success! However, what my main problem was..assuming that downloading and installing would take care of my plugin problem. I found you have to go to each plugin installed through the settings and activate through there if need be. That information was not really clear anywhere, or that I could find performing searches. In addition, if there are instructions for the plugin, I was oblivious to those. So that is fixed. The Adsense was all trial and error. Not knowing a whole lot about HTML and ‘where to put the code’ was my biggest challenge. One is just a search which should be displayed within the sidebar but nothing is there. And as far as Adsense…I have watched the tutorials on their site and how to get the code, however, this particular source code for this template has a dynamic sidebar and I am not sure if that will become an issue.
