    Hey @reelism,

    This version of our Donate Button is designed to allow individuals and charities to collect donations benefitting a registered nonprofit, and doesn’t support donations to personal causes right now. We ask whether the creator is an “Individual” or a “Charity” so we can help provide support – it isn’t a setting of the Donate Button. The goal of the Donate Button is to make it easy to collect donations benefitting any nonprofit via a WordPress site, so users always have to select a benefitting charity to use this version of the Donate Button. It’s a new charity fundraising feature, distinct from setting up a GoFundMe campaign.

    It sounds like you may want to fundraise for a personal cause. If that’s the case, the best way to do that is by setting up a campaign on GoFundMe (which it sounds like you’ve done) and use the link to direct supporters to donate.
