In reply to: Banner Advertisment Code RequestWell,
I will look at it.. but it would have helped more if you would have used the same css terms.. Where is header? what does that correspond too? At this point both the index.php are a mess and I have no idea what to change anymore.. but thanks.. I will figure it out..
It worked for you cause you made up your stuff.. the background is a color not an image.. etc… my variables are not even the same as yours.. clearer? adspace??
Thanks anyhow..Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Banner Advertisment Code RequestYes, but you will no longer see the code in its original form. Close to it but not exactly.. I just want to make sure you are seeing everything so that there is nothing missed.

In reply to: Banner Advertisment Code RequestThe wp-backup stuff I keep showing you is what I actually have in the a.wpblog folder. I am just showing it to you in text form so you can read it.
The CSS file is the actual file that is in use.
When you ask me to do something I make the change then I copy what is in the a.wpblog ( index.php ) to the wp-backup/index.txt file so you can read it.
Lots of redundancy there, but you get the point.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Banner Advertisment Code RequestPlease read above regarding the #top. I am going to paste over the new index.php with the new code for the banner. As you will see there in fact is a TOP. However, I am not sure if you need a #Top in the css file and if so then what should the parameters be?
I want to get on the same level here.. cause I really do not understand what you are saying above… but I hope my response is proper and not idiotic.
Kind regards,

In reply to: Banner Advertisment Code RequestLots of love going out to ya!… Thanks
I am sure that I am not the only one whom would like to do this, so your efforts will be greatly appreciated by others, compounded by mine.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Banner Advertisment Code RequestWhat should the #top element have as parameters in the CSS file or does there not need to be any?
Please advise..Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Banner Advertisment Code RequestOK… Back to where we were.. everything except the additional h1 tag in the css file is back to how it was. IE is still a problem.. If you check the CSS you will see I have done exactly what you asked.. within the index file. I am going to place a copy of the index.php in the index.txt file for you and we can go on with your suggestions.

In reply to: Banner Advertisment Code RequestNo, what I said was I did not understand what it was going to do, and that I reverted back to normal temporarily so we have a clean slate to work with.. rather then all these changes and I have no idea what was changed and was affected what.. I will put it back in 10 seconds if that is what you want.. not a problem..

In reply to: Banner Advertisment Code RequestI made some changes to bring it back to normal where it works in all browsers.. Just so you know why it changed.,

In reply to: Banner Advertisment Code RequestThe header is defined at 746 so that the background image stretches across the entire field. If you change that number you end up with this:
http://www.gravityworks.us/a.wpblog/
I removed the top tag, cause i do not understand how adding a top tag is going to get the banner script on top of the background image it is only going to create an area above the background image called top.
Understanding what you are writing is tough on this thing… so bare with me.. I also remove the h1 tag from the css page cause it was not doing anything…
so please back up a minute and in detail tell me what you want me to do.. cause these tweak tests are not getting rid of the 1 problem that exists. ” the fact that IE does not want to float on top of the background image in the header.. which is silly..
Thanks for your patience..

In reply to: Banner Advertisment Code RequestWell, width was added.. to a css h1 tag in the wp-layout.css file and the h1 div was added as well without even a hint of change to IE..
Maybe the doc header:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC “-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN” “http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd”>
<html xmlns=”http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml” lang=”en” xml:lang=”en”>
Needs changes to it so that IE supports stuff better.. At this point I am a bit lost as to what to try next.. You have any more suggestions? Stupid IE..
Kind regards,

In reply to: Banner Advertisment Code RequestNot really following you on the hi vs the h1. I added an h1 to the css file down near the other h2 and h3 items. I am not sure what else to use as parameters other then width. Doing this did not change anything in IE.
What is hi? and please write up what you mean by:
add another tag… where? and what is this tags name? hi or h1?

In reply to: Banner Advertisment Code RequestHello,
Thanks for spending the time helping me. I removed the margin of 10px and I added a width: 234px; – still a no go in IE. And no matter what I write here never take it as I am getting upset. Unless I am ;). It’s all good.. the more we do the more I learn… the less I bother anyone in the future…
I have to run to the store.. I will be back in 1 hour. If you can think of anything else, just place it here and I will start again once I get back.
you can check the changes with the links above to the css.
Appreciate your help.
Kind regards,

In reply to: Banner Advertisment Code RequestHello,
Just want to say thanks before I get started here.. I do appreciate your help.
Firefox.. well it looks great..
IE – Bad news…
You can check out the index.php file here:
http://www.gravityworks.us/a.wpblog/wp-backup/index.txt
and the CSS file here:
http://www.gravityworks.us/a.wpblog/wp-layout.css
any other suggestions are really welcomed.. I know this is all a matter of probably getting the tags and parameters correct, or maybe it is just that IE sux and ruins everyone’s day.. But, regardless it needs to work..
Firefox really looks great…
next???
