In reply to: Getting "You are not allowed to edit this post." after 3.6.1 updateI managed to export the DB, re-install WP in a clean DB, and import from the export a bit at a time. I think I have most of the site rebuilt except for some widgets, but will get there over time.
Thanks for all the suggestions. None of them helped, but it nudged me towards a site rebuild which was necessary anyway to get me from one smaller database (100MB) to a big one (1Gig) among other changes.
So I’m back up and running and so far so good.
Thanks again. Still don’t know what happened to cause the original issue, but I’ll be more diligent in backing stuff up now.

In reply to: Getting "You are not allowed to edit this post." after 3.6.1 updateOk. I’m guessing it’s something in the database itself. Because I’ve re-uploaded all the files & folders (except wp-content) from a fresh install of WP 3.6.1 locally. And I’m still seeing the same things:
1) I cannot add a new post. When I do “Add new Post” I’m seeing “Submit for Review” like my user account is out of whack.
2) When I try to save a draft (even with #1 occurring) I see “You are not allowed to edit this post.”
Even rolling back to 3.6.0 hasn’t made a difference.
Anybody have any clues? This is driving me nuts.
The site is http://www.gameknightreviews.com
It looks fine except for a couple of glitches that crept in when I updated the theme.

In reply to: Getting "You are not allowed to edit this post." after 3.6.1 updateResetting the plug-ins folder didn’t do anything to help.
Am now trying to re-upload the files & folders (minus the wp-content folder) from a fresh install.

In reply to: Getting "You are not allowed to edit this post." after 3.6.1 updateDeactivating plug-ins does not help. Active or deactive I’m still seeing the same issues. What’s odd is that when I do “Add new Post” I’m seeing “Submit for Review” like my user account is out of whack. It’s my admin account, so I’m not sure how that could have changed on the site.
Also, interesting enough, Jetpack is giving me this error:
“Your Jetpack has a glitch. Something went wrong that’s never supposed to happen. Guess you’re just lucky: verify_secrets_missing
Try connecting again.”Changing the default theme (or 2013) did nothing either.
Trying resetting the plug-ins folder.

In reply to: Getting "You are not allowed to edit this post." after 3.6.1 updateI cleared up some space in the database thinking that was it.
I looked at the “autoincrement” setting on the post ID column as was suggested in one forum post and that looks fine.
I don’t know what else to do.

In reply to: Upgrade woes in 2.7.1Everything seems to be using the wpnonce=xxxxxx in the URL, which makes sense, but is failing somehow. Is there a “dunce” topic for “nonce” newbies? I suspect that the nonce is what’s making everything fail, as I didn’t have a nonce in my config.php file before.

In reply to: Upgrade woes in 2.7.1Hi Figaro,
I did upgrade manually from version 2.6.1. And I’m unable to do diddly squat. When I try to switch themes, I get this:
Your attempt to switch to this theme: “default” has failed.
All plugins are still deactivated.
Thanks for the help.
