In reply to: [Simple Shopping Cart] Multiple paymentsYes, this disabling of the “Smart checkout option” likewise fixed an issue where a popup would appear after submitting PayPal payment:
“Error occurred during processing. Check debug log for additional details”.Sorry to ask this rather off-topic question,
but I’m using the WordPress Simple PayPal Shopping Cart plugin now.And you recommend WP Express Checkout plugin
given that the WordPress Simple PayPal Shopping Cart “Smart checkout option” feature is currently broken.I’m worried about duplication of features or other issues that might arise in having both plugins installed.
So I guess the big question is:
What is the difference between the two plugins
and/or why might one just remove the
WordPress Simple PayPal Shopping Cart plugin
and use only the WP Express Checkout plugin?Hoping you can clarify a bit more.
Thanks!
From PayPal:
I also checked our logs and I’m not seeing any errors from our server end.
The error message that is being alerted is from the plugin, not PayPal. Did you write the code for this integration? Or is this a third-party plugin?

James
Engineer – Merchant Technical SupportYes, caching does not run on my shopping page at all.
And contacting PayPal they say the error is definitely on the scripting/website side.
Any other ideas as to why this pop-up error button just started appearing?
I can provide access and a demo page if that will help?
In order for me to log into WordPress
and show you the picture above,
I need to be “a user”?So yes, I’m logged as the administrator
and no users are listed,
including myself.How could that be?
Irrespective of whether I have 1 million users listed or just myself, should the list not at least show “me” in the list?

In reply to: [Simple Shopping Cart] Cart Orders – Title tag and Meta Desc.Very interesting.
Ok, so for your testing. The only SEO plugin I have installed is the SEOPress plugin. Can you confirm that Yoast is the culprit in this regard?
Good to know for future ticket inquiries I suspect.

In reply to: [Simple Shopping Cart] PayPal Credit displayed when not checkedAwaiting resolution on this one as well.
In regard to shipping, your FAQ is outdated and no longer valid.
Since the PayPal interface has changed many of the terms and pictures you have on that FAQ page are no longer valid.
In my case, I had never set up shipping. However, it appears that shipping is set by default to “on”, UNTIL you go to the “Shipping” and calculation page, and set up a shipping method.
I did so and after setting “Free Shipping” as my shipping option, I was given another screen where I could make shipping inactive, shown below.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/19fyJooh-QEV5V1hXdOtL5IwZWaGcDF-m/viewOnce I set the inactive setting and saved, then the Shipping Calculations page will show the shipping setting as inactive/greyed out:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/109TEnnyv64dWfW7F5Z2Nl_os5g1v5usF/viewSo it would appear that your peeps need to update this page as noted above.
However, even after doing all of the above, clicking on credit card payment still displays the Shipping check box, so apparently we aren’t done yet…
1.
Reenabled “Disable Standard PayPal Checkout”
No change in behavior on https://sandiegoarchers.com/donations
Shipping option remains in credit card checkout.2.
The FAQ you gave me says:
Option 3) Use PayPal’s Profile Based Shipping
You can also configure the shipping in your PayPal merchant account profile then tell the shopping cart to use your profile based shipping.Step 1: Check the “Use PayPal Profile Based Shipping” field in the settings menu of this plugin
“Use PayPal Profile Based Shipping” remains unchecked, so in theory would it not pull the shipping setting from your plugin by default?
> Have you enabled any shipping in your PayPal account?
Hmm, this is a very good question. Whereabouts would I go to verify this setting?
(sounds like a good how-to to add to your FAQ)
I would not have done so purposely. Is that the default possibly?
> Have you enabled any of this shipping options in the plugins settings?

Unless there is some other shipping setting, yes.> Have you enabled Disable Standard PayPal Checkout under Advanced Settings?
Did not!
Disable Standard PayPal Checkout is now “unchecked”
