In reply to: Links in WordPress being perceived a pop-ups!Still not sure what to do. This are the two pieces of code.
Open external links in a new tab?
Forum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: Links in WordPress being perceived a pop-ups!Here’s a link to my Front Page version of the site. http://brokeragenttraining.com/realtor_links.htm
Opens to another window and no problem with pop-up blockers.

In reply to: Links in WordPress being perceived a pop-ups!Thanks for the heads up. What I did was put a script that allows them to check a box if they want the links to open in a new window. I figure this at least lets them control their experience. See http://realtytraining.org/helpful-real-estate-links
The only problem is I can’t get the check box to justify to the left. It looks fine in the visual editor but expands when I view it in a browser.

In reply to: Links in WordPress being perceived a pop-ups!I understand what you’re saying but you’re thinking like an advanced user. You need to think like the masses. Many people don’t know enough to right click to open a new tab. Some even don’t know how to use the back button on their browser. I train Realtors who use the Internet every day and most have not a clue about right clicking to open a link in a new tab.
But it’s still beside the point. A new page should open without it being blocked as a pop-up. If a crummy program like Front Page can accomplish this why can’t WordPress? There must be a plugin that corrects this if WordPress won’t.

In reply to: Links in WordPress being perceived a pop-ups!I’m checking the “open link in new window” box. This is causing Google toolbar pop-up blocker to block the pages from opening unless of course I press CTRL. If Google toolbar is blocking it that’s very bad because that’s a popular toolbar. Maybe that’s why so many bloggers don’t check of that box. But I don’t want them to leave my site just to open up a link. IMO this is a major bug.
BTW, I shouldn’t have two Analytics trackers running. I couldn’t get Google to recognize the tracking code so I was trying different trackers. Is there still more than on traker active? There shouldn’t be. Maybe I need to delete them entirely rather than just deactivating them?
I got it working using the SMTP plugin you recommended but all notifications end up in Gmail’s spam box. Which means anyone registering with a Gmail address is not going to get it.
I guess it is appearing to not come from the sender. I set up the same domain email address in WordPress as the one that’s in the SMTP plugin, but it didn’t help. Gmail’s filters still think it’s spam.
No, it’s a gmail address.
Correct BeefChief, I’m getting them as a site admin but the new member isn’t. Also lost password requests aren’t arriving either.
The plugin does send me a confirmation when someone signs up however. For example I got these emails.
