I identified the conflict, there was a rogue plugin/file from WPMUDEV that I had placed in the mu-plugins folder to correct a conflict with one of their plugins. That wasn’t an issue anymore, so I’ve removed the file and Gmail SMTP is back to how it should be. Thanks
