I have worked around in duplicating a previous newsletter that has the same images like dividers and social media widgets, which doesnt work with new newsletters, and it worked.
Maybe you give this a try.

We had a workaround now in duplicating older newsletter (with same images like divider etc.) and it works.
Next time I will also check the FTP folders if the images are physically existing.
