I updated to 1.8.6, it works!!!
Thanks for the fix team!
Update:
I did some testing in a staging environment with a rollback plugin allowing me to install old versions of Ultimate FAQ and test.
Here are the results of recent versions of the plug-in and whether or not the permalink on ‘one faq page’ work or not:
1.7.0 works
1.8.0 works
1.8.1 works
1.8.2 does not work
1.8.3 does not work
1.8.4 does not workI have rolled back the plugin to 1.8.1 on my production install.
I would guess that something introduced in Ultimate FAQ v1.8.2 is preventing the permalink javascript magic from working on some (at least one) wordpress installs.

Everything is up to date.
– WordPress version: 4.9.8
– Ultimate FAQ Plugin-version: 1.8.5I noticed the even newer release. It did not fix the issue.
No other changes to my site before/after the new version of the plugin.
I clicked save. Turned Main/Individual permalink on/off. No change.
I don’t use caching plugins. I do use a CDN and purged it as a test. No impact.
This is a feature that worked 2 versions ago and now no longer works. I’m surprised you say it works on your test site.
You can test this yourself on my faq, none of the direct-to-answer permalinks on my single faq page will take you to the answer or open the FAQ at that answer.

In reply to: [Ultimate FAQ Accordion Plugin] Page Speed SlowI love this plugin, it works great, but I am also finding it to be very slow.
I have super fast hosting and the FAQ page is by far the slowest page on my site. It is going to kill user experience.
All of my FAQ content is text-based with a few links. Usually a paragraph or two. I have a total of 6 categories and 125 questions as of right now.
How can I make it faster? Are there things I can turn off or scripts I can host to speed this thing up?
Update: forgot to mention that I’m a paying customer if that helps.
