It also happens with the 2016 theme. I have got it to work – it seems to be unique to stub of the page it is on. When I change the stub name it works fine.

In reply to: images not showingwell, blow me over and call me “windswept”.
It was a permalink issue; Somehow I must have changed it from “day and name” to “month and name” and didn’t notice the subtle difference.
Setting it back to “day and name” fixed my issue.
…I am a little surprised though that changing the permalink makes some images disappear whilst all posts are still fine.
Hope this helps someone else one day.

In reply to: images not showingI have checked hot-linking – not that.
I have de-activated all plugins – not that.
I have uploaded a new image and made a post – that works fine.The images are definitely there un /uploads/ and some of them do show. I can see no difference in permissions or ownership between the ones that show and the ones that don’t.
For the ones that do not show up, I can neither see them in the Media library (just a question mark over a pace-holder) and I get a “page not found” error when I link to them directly.
I am at a loss, so any suggestions would be very welcome.
