Yes this is core plugin, no add-ons.

I’m using a CNN RSS feed, which is validated
(http://validator.w3.org/feed/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Frss.cnn.com%2Frss%2Fcnn_topstories.rss):

http://rss.cnn.com/rss/cnn_topstories.rss

However this issue happens with any feed. No items get imported at all. What is weird is that when I click “Feed Source” it gives me the correct content under Feed Preview. When I click on “View Items” or “Fetch Items” – zilch.

From a firewall perspective, you can think of it as no inbound ports are being allowed but all outbound ports are allowed.

What needs to be allowed to come inbound? Everything else with my WP seems to work fine, like adding themes and plugins, as well as other RSS plugins fetching items.
