One other thing I forgot to mention: the Official button style also adds a “Pin It” button on top of images (when you have the Pinterest share button enabled). I don’t know off the top of my head if that also relies on the Pinterest API, but that feature will also go away if you choose another style besides Official. Thanks!
Hey there,
Thanks for checking in about this! We do need to connect to the Pinterest API in order to display the Pinterest share count, but you can hide the share count by choosing a different visual style for the share buttons. It’s only the Official style that will display share counts.
If you view your website when logged in as an administrator, you will see a Customize buttons link below your sharing buttons. You can use this as a quick way to jump to the spot on your dashboard where you can customize the button style.
You can also manually navigate here:
yoursite.com/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=sharing(Replacing yoursite.com with your domain, of course.)
Let us know how that goes!

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] stats.wp.com/w.jsHey there,
Most tracking should be disabled by turning off Jetpack Stats. You can disable Jetpack Stats by following the instructions here. If you’re still seeing the script after disabling Jetpack Stats, please let us know your site domain so we can have a look. Thanks!

In reply to: [Jetpack Social] Can’t disconnect the social formerly known as TwitterHey there,
Thanks for reaching out. You had an extra/duplicate Facebook connection, which was broken. I’ve disconnected that on our end. Let us know if you’re still running into the error!
Hey there,
Sorry to hear about the issue you’re having with Jetpack contact form emails. We haven’t heard about any widespread issue with the email notifications being received by Gmail addresses.
Jetpack, like other contact form plugins, uses wp_mail() to send out emails, so unfortunately there’s not much we can do on our end, as the emails are sent from your site’s server, rather than from us.
If you’ve already tried to use an SMTP plugin and have confirmed the emails work on an Outlook address, the most likely scenario here is that Gmail is blocking those emails from your site. Unfortunately if that’s the case, switching to another email address is probably going to be your best bet here. You could also experiment with sending the notifications to another email address and then setting up a forward, although your mileage may vary with that.
Sorry we can’t be of more help!

In reply to: [Jetpack VaultPress Backup] Poor Functionality Drives Up CostHi Tom,
Thanks for sharing this feedback with us, as it will help us improve Jetpack VaultPress Backup. I just want to point out, in regards to this:
You also cant creat a limit on the number of backups held, or provide for older backups to be deleted every so often.
We actually do offer this functionality. You can select a backup retention period of 7 days, 30 days, 120 days, or one year. Any backups older than your chosen retention period will be automatically deleted on a rolling basis.
Thanks!
Hi Bix,
I can see that you communicated with our developers about this issue on Github already, and they were able to merge a fix that will be included in the next Jetpack release, so I’ll mark this forum thread as resolved. Thanks!

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] I can’t login please helpHi there,
Were you able to resolve the issues that were preventing you from getting logged in to your site?
If Jetpack’s brute force protection feature was blocking you from logging in, I would recommend that you allowlist your IP address by following these steps:
https://jetpack.com/support/protect/#settings
If you wish to deactivate the brute force protection feature entirely, you can also do that on your WordPress.com dashboard following the instructions in the documentation linked above.
Even if you are locked out of your site, you should still be able to access your WordPress.com dashboard.
Please let us know if we can help further.

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Markdown Block seizing up?Hey there,
Thanks for sharing that update with us. I’m glad you were able to narrow down the cause of the issue. I’ll mark this forum thread as resolved now, but if you end up encountering the issue in regular Safari in the future, feel free to drop a new reply and let us know so we can investigate further!
Hey there!
Just to confirm, did you try to allowlist our IPs following this guide:
https://support.projectshield.withgoogle.com/s/article/Allowlist-trusted-IP-addresses?language=en_US
We don’t commonly encounter users using Project Shield, so it’s possible they might require the IP ranges to be listed in a different format. Can you try adding the IPs in the way we’ve formatted them for Cloudflare and Sucuri here and see if that makes any difference for you?
Thanks!
Hi there!
Do you have the Jetpack Beta plugin installed on your site? You can check under Plugins > Installed Plugins in WP Admin to see whether it is installed and active.
If you are using that plugin, you should be able to visit Jetpack > Jetpack Beta and switch to the regular version of Jetpack Boost instead of the beta version.
