To remove the duotone feature click the duotone button again and select ‘Clear’ in the bottom right corner of the dialog.
To remove text over image, you need to change the block type back to image by clicking the left icon in the bar over the block.
I went back about 30 minutes later and all was working again. I guess it was just a temporary glitch as WordPress got everything setup.
This happened to me too. I did a clean install of the latest version of WordPress (3.6.1) and then downloaded the latest JetPack (2.5) logged in to my WordPress account. Went to look at some stats, and page failed to load. Now my site’s home page does not load either. I will try and track down my php.log so I can see WTF is going on…
