I’m afraid this change really breaks your plugin. Users that don’t have JetPack but rely on the [gist] shortcode, will have their gists not working after upgrade.
I would suggest changing back, or at least checking if JetPack is enabled before switching gist shortcode name.

If you don’t have WP_DEBUG = true you won’t notice (no pun intended) it. I just thought the developer should know.
Ah I see. I didn’t really see the complexity of my request when I suggested it.
