Another update as I am continuing to search for help reading other posts…tried renaming .htaccess and still can’t get in.
And to clarify, I can’t get into wp-admin. The site is there but isn’t displaying properly.
Hi Mark:
I am in an endless loop with the hosting provider over this. Purchased the security certificate through them and they said to install Really Simple SSL and all would be good. When it didn’t recognize my certificate I called them back. So far they have broken the site 3 times with “I’m just going to try one thing.” Then they “escalate the problem” to their tech team who fixes it enough to get me back into my site where I’m back to the same issue of Really Simple SSL not recognizing the certificate.
A more immediate problem right now is that I can’t get even get into my site due to their last “fix.” I think they were saying that the problem was that my theme was incompatible (Bento theme – 8,000 installs and 8.9 out of 10 stars and incompatible with https??) though it was hard to tell because English is definitely the 2nd language of most I have talked to. I tried renaming the theme folder to force the default theme with no luck. Also tried renaming the plugin folder to see if a plugin was causing it.
Desperately seeking the advice of someone who knows their stuff! 🙂

Thank you!!

In reply to: How can I do this in WordPress?Either! Prefer a plugin because I am not that strong in coding, but will take any advice on how I can achieve that functionality.
