    Dear Johannes,

I installed WordPress locally with the following plugins (all latest version):

    – ACF multilingual
    – ACF Image aspect ratio crop
    – ACF pro
    – WPML media
    – WPML multilingial cms
    – WPML string translation
    – WPML translation management

I setup 2 langs: English (primary) and dutch. In the wpml settings, I checked all checkboxes except the first one under Media settings > ‘You can check if some attachments can be duplicated to translated content:’.

I also checked the first checkbox under Media settings >
How to handle media for new content.

I add a ACF crop field to a page with aspect ratio of 1600 x 900, without setting anything related to acf multilingual for this field.

    1. I upload an image to the library, the image is copied to dutch, all is well.
    2. I crop the image in the ACF field on the page in English > the cropped version is not shown in the English media library.
    3. I now check the dutch library, and there are now 2 images displayed.

Normally that did not happen, but since I use ACF image aspect ratio crop all the time, the media library of other langs becomes a bit chaotic.

I hope you can reproduce this, let me know if you need more info.

    Dear Johannes,

Thank you so much for that info. I am a huge fan of your plugin btw, even though I address this issue. I use it everywhere.

Can I send you an e-mail with the credentials of the site? So you can just have a look at the media library and see what I mean.

    Dear Johannes,

This is the answer I got from WPML:

As far as i see we are not know about this plugin yet which means we have not tested the plugin with WPML.

We are not sure whats really breaking in the code.

If that worked well until recently i would suggest to check that with the plugin support and if they are not compatible with WPML yet, kindly invite them to join our go global program https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/go-global-program/ were we can collaborate with the plugin developer to make it work seamless with WPML .

    Dear Johannes,

    Thank you for your response.

I do use WPML. Mostly for images I use copy once. I have always used copy once in the past but since a week or 2 it started showing the cropped images in the media library.

Which method do you use to not display cropped items in the media library? This way maybe I can inform at WPML if they can target the issue more specifically.

    Kind regards,

    Laurens

    Dear Johannes,

I was no longer able to reproduce the issue so you can mark it as solved. Thank you so much for your help and for adjusting the links on the free crops in the latest update.

A nice to have feature would also be to be able to select a previously cropped image based on the dimensions in the filename, without ending up with multiple same crops of the same image.

    Kind regards,

    Laurens

    Dear joppuyo,

I Just noticed something. When the black zone around the image appears, the filename of the cropped image becomes: filename-scaled-aspect-ratio-705-735 instead of filename-aspect-ratio-705-735.

    What could this mean?

    Kind regards,

    Laurens

    Dear Joppuyo,

The problem seems to persist in ACF flexible content fields.
