 * Sorry to say I’ve discovered that page cacheing causes the displayed time to
   be incorrect. Now that I have moved my gorgeous looking clocks to the live site
   the displayed times are all over the place! Unless I turn off cacheing.
 * Is there a better way to get the time other than putting it into the page source?
   Ajax was recommended to me by WP Fastest Cache support.
 * Please help, I want to put the clocks on my home page but Google will hate me
   if I don’t have it cached!

 * I spoke too soon, after emailing WP Fastest Cache support – it seems that the
   hour and minute is put into the page source code and so any cacheing will cause
   a problem. They suggest using an Ajax call to get the time – could that be a
   possible solution?

 * Ah! Clearing the cache of minified JavaScript solves the problem. I can easily
   add a rule to stop WP Fastest Cache cacheing that particular JS.

 * Great update – works perfectly for me now. Beowolf, I use it with Elegant Themes
   Divi which can use the Sidebar module to add a widget anywhere in the page. This
   works great.

 * Thanks for a simple and effective plugin, however if the computer goes to sleep
   the time is wrong on wake up, until the page is refreshed – is there an easy
   way to automatically update the time or check every 5 minutes say?
 * Thanks

 * A similar thread has the solution:
    Thanks teszilla as you say SOLUTION: not
   sure what changed but you need to go into the plugin >Settings >Viewing Events
   >Calendar Page >Auto-Create New Page. This stops the calendar from adding itself
   to the page you have the shortcode on and creates it’s own page which you will
   likely not use.

 * I couldn’t make the functions.php file work but I managed to get rid of the date
   by commenting out lines 20-24 of content-page.php
 * <!– <?php } else { ?>
 *  <header class=”entry-header”>
    <?php the_title( ‘<h2 class=”entry-title”>[‘, ‘](https://wordpress.org/support/users/macnetwork/replies/&apos; . get_permalink() . &apos;?output_format=md)
   </h2>’ ); ?> </header><!– .entry-header –>
 * Doesn’t seem to have affected anything else, dates are gone from pages and posts
   but… who knows?

 * I tried creating a footer.php file in my child theme folder and it contained
   the code below and nothing else. I’m not exactly an advanced user so not sure
   that was was what you meant, but then I get a server error or blank page.
 * <?php
 * function tingle_byline( $html ){
    return ”; } add_filter(‘entry_byline’, ‘tingle_byline’);

 * Thanks Paul, I’ll have a look-maybe a simple on/off preference for the next version?
