Hi Jesper,
Thanks for following up. If you do not select an image for Facebook, the featured image should be used by default. We did notice that the og:image does not match the featured image.
Can you confirm that an image has not been set for Facebook on that post? If not, please also try to select the Facebook image to be the same as the featured image. Does the og:image update accordingly?
We are looking forward to hearing from you.
Hi @tizianaleobruni,
Please translate your message into English, so that we may assist you. Unfortunately, we do not currently provide support in other languages.
We are looking forward to hearing from you.
Hi @divvy,
Did you use any filters or custom functions to modify the XML Sitemaps? We ask as we’ve noticed that the /top/ page shows both in the posts and pages sitemaps.
In addition, please update to the latest version (8.3) and perform a conflict check, to determine if the issue persists when all other plugins are deactivated.
Yoast SEO can only create XML Sitemaps for the WordPress installation which is part of. If you build a new website on /shop/, then you can install Yoast SEO on it and the address for the XML Sitemaps (of the /shop/ website only) will be /shop/sitemap_index.xml.
You can submit that address to Google Search Console too.
Hi Yon,
Thank you for getting back to us.
You could use this filter to change the base URL for the sitemaps.
Hi @fruaaron,
Unfortunately, it is not possible (nor recommended) to index categories/taxonomies with no posts assigned to them. They would be thin content pages, which can have a negative impact on your SEO.
We hope to have cleared things up for you and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any further questions.
We believe you’re confusing your IP address (of the device which you are using to connect to the internet) with the server’s IP address (where your website is hosted). We do not track or store any of the user’s data with Yoast SEO, the connection which you are referring to is between Yoast’s servers and your server.
Yoast SEO does not store any user information, all the data which we’re using is related to your server only.
We hope to have cleared things up for you and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any further questions.
Hi Natasha,
The best way to find out if Google can properly index your pages is to fetch and render them as Googlebot. If the result is “Complete”, then Google can properly detect your content.
Please upload the screenshot with the Javascript errors on an image sharing website (such as Imgur) and send us the link here.
We are looking forward to hearing from you.
Hi @aashishdua1,
Can you give us more details on what you are trying to achieve? You could remove any custom post types from the sitemap by noindexing it from SEO → Search Appearance → Content Types.
Hi @jelliott144,
It is possible that your theme is ignoring the primary category of Yoast SEO. If you use the breadcrumbs of Yoast SEO, only the primary category should be displayed. Can you confirm?
If so, then it means that your theme would have to be modified to display the primary category instead of the first alphabetical one.
Hi Craig,
Can you attach a screenshot of the errors, so that we may better understand? You can upload it to any image sharing website, such as Imgur and share the link here.
We are looking forward to hearing from you.
Hi @karenvisser200 and @scottkr24,
I’m sorry for the mix-up, I meant Yoast SEO meta box. The Readability tab is part of the free plugin too.
Please upload the images to an image sharing site such as Imgur and send us the links.
We are looking forward to hearing from you.
In the Sharing Debugger, if you scroll all the way down, you can see exactly what Facebook sees when crawling your website (i.e. this image). You can use that link to determine if Facebook is properly crawling your pages.
If there are any issues, it could either be something in your robots.txt file or a firewall/security plugin that you might be using that is blocking Facebook’s crawlers.
Please let us know if you have any other questions or need any help.
Thanks for following up, that sounds like a great feature request. Please submit it on GitHub and our development team will look into it.
We are looking forward to hearing from you.
