Hi @craigind,
The verification code should never be visible, it is a meta tag which is visible to search engines only.
We’ve inspected your website and noticed that it’s a different plugin or a custom solution that adds that line (which is visible). Yoast SEO adds the verification code correctly as a meta tag: https://i.imgur.com/MftLDVI.png
However, lower in the source there is a another verification code which is added as plain text, not as a meta tag: https://i.imgur.com/CSGUdQX.png
The line in the second screenshot is not only the reason why it’s visible on your website, but it’s also useless as search engines will not recognize it (because it’s not written as a meta tag). Unfortunately, we couldn’t provide you with an exact solution on how to remove that line as it’s not added by Yoast SEO.
It could either be added using a plugin that allows adding code to head, as a custom function of your theme or even hardcoded into the theme.
We hope to have cleared things up for you and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any further questions.
Can you confirm that you are experiencing this issue with Yoast SEO 8.0? We ask as a bug which is very similar to what you have described has been recently fixed.
Hey @darksider59,
Have you recently switched from HTTP to HTTPS? We ask as many links in the source seem to be on HTTP. If you change your Site Address and WordPress Address to HTTPS in Settings → General, does this fix your issue?
In addition, one other thing we have noticed is that your website has multiple Open Graph tags, you can check them in this image.
We are looking forward to hearing from you.
Hi @dmorale1,
Unfortunately, I didn’t fully understand the issue which you are experiencing. Does the title shown on Google not match the one you have set with Yoast SEO?
If so, please send us the URL to one of your portfolios and a screenshot of the title you have set in Yoast SEO, so that we can compare the data.
We are looking forward to your reply.
Hi @ajtruckle,
When you go to Users → Your Profile, can you confirm that this box is unchecked?
Thanks for following up. There is a known issue where some variables do not get replaced in the snippet editor, but they do get generated correctly in the source of the post/page.
If you check the the source of your post, you will find the title is:
<title>Sally - Saltarina y llena de energía - Animales en adopción</title>Hi @rameezramzan,
Please send us the URLs which are missing from your sitemap, so that we may inspect them.
If you go to Users → Your Profile, can you confirm that this box is unchecked?
Hi @fdestiny,
Please send us a screenshot from the Yoast SEO meta box (with the analysis tab missing), so that we may better understand the issue and provide you with a solution.
Please check if this box is checked when editing the user where you are experiencing this issue.
In addition, also make sure that the Yoast SEO box is checked in Screen Options, when editing your post/page.

We have inspected your page and can confirm that it’s indexed in Google: https://i.imgur.com/BdoXnBe.png
However, optimizing a page for a chosen keyword does not guarantee to rank for it. Google Rankings (and the traffic it generates) depend on over 200 different factors. You can learn more about the 200 different factors that Google uses to determine ranking here. Other issues that determine rankings (and the traffic it creates) are the server load, page speed, cache configuration, mobile versions, responsiveness, the site’s content.
That being said, it is possible that the keyword which you have chosen is too hard to rank for. We recommend checking out this guide on keyword research.
Hi @ontheball1,
The homepage will always have the address which you have set in Settings → General, in your WordPress dashboard. You cannot select a slug for the homepage, it wouldn’t be a homepage anymore if that was possible. Please note this is the default WordPress behavior, it is not specific to Yoast SEO.
We hope to have cleared things up for you and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any further questions.
Hi @kundun12,
The image which you have provided does not meet the minimum requirements for og:image, it needs to be at least 200×200 pixels.
That being said, the og:image tag does not get generated when the image does not meet the minimum requirements.
Hi @netistix,
We understand that Yoast SEO is causing the issue. However, we believe this is caused by a conflict with a plugin/theme which are you using. In order to find out which other plugin is causing this issue, please perform a conflict check as in this guide.
