Hi @jedi82,
The example which you have sent to prevent duplicate titles and meta descriptions is correct, adding the %%page%% variable will fix this issue.
In regards to settings which you have asked us to review, we were not able due to Lightshot being down at the moment: https://i.imgur.com/cKdRwPn.png
In addition, we cannot provide site-specific SEO support. If you need help setting up Yoast SEO, we recommend following the configuration guide.
Hi @pdavey,
The ww.wp.xz.cn forums are meant to be used for questions related to Yoast SEO (free version) only. For any questions related to the premium version, please send us an email at [email protected]
To answer your questions, a subscription is valid for one year and is required in order to receive plugin updates and support. When your subscription expires, you can either renew it manually or continue to use Yoast SEO Premium without a valid subscription.
That being said, the plugin is yours to keep and use for lifetime, but without an active subscription, you cannot receive plugin updates and support.
WhatsApp uses Open Graph tags to generate the title, image, etc., just like Facebook. That being said, when sending your URL of the shop on WhatsApp, the generated image should match the Open Graph image set for that URL.
The og:image of the URL which you have sent us is this one, which matches the image in your screenshot from WhatsApp.
We hope to have cleared things up for you and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any further questions.
Hi @scorpiock,
You are correct, the Twitter description should be generated by default if there is a meta description. However, your URL does not have a meta description either, which is why we believe you might have only set a custom OG description. This would explain why the meta description and Twitter description are missing.
Please check if this is the case and let us know.
Hi @dkaleky,
Unfortunately, without a full copy of the error message, we couldn’t suggest an exact solution. You might want to try to fix it by following this guide.
In addition, please also check if the issue persists when only Yoast SEO is active, the bug could also be caused by an incompatibility with another plugin.
We are looking forward to hearing from you.
Hi Annie,
Thanks for following up, we’re happy to hear the issue has been fixed. Should it return, please let us know and we’ll further investigate this.
We are looking forward to hearing from you.
Hi @madhsudhan,
It seems like you are using a CDN for your images. To add the images from your CDN to the sitemap, please refer to this guide.
Does this fix your issue?
Hi @vramachandran,
Unfortunately, I was not able to replicate the issue on my testing environment. Setting the permalink structure to /blog/%postname%/ works as expected: https://i.imgur.com/s8WGClE.png
However, we are aware of some inconsistencies between the snippet editor and the permalink structure, you can find out more here.
If that is the case, please note that the issue is only a visual bug in the snippet editor, that URL is not used anywhere on your website, meaning it will not affect your SEO.
The snippet editor is meant to show you a preview of how the URL will look when ranking on Google. The URL shown is just a visual representation and does not serve any other purpose. In this matter, it is safe to ignore it.
We hope to have cleared things up for you and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any further questions.
Hi @hookieoalo,
We do offer support for the free version too, but we can’t go as far as logging into your website to check if the issue is specific to your site.
Many Yoast SEO users are browsing through Safari, which makes us believe that the issue is specific to your setup.
That being said, if you’d like to help us fix this issue, please let us know:
- Does the issue persist after updating to Yoast SEO 7.9?
- What version of Safari are you using?
- Are you using any browser extensions? If so, please temporarily deactivate them and let us know if the issue persists.
We are looking forward to hearing from you.
Hi @menashmi,
When you are saying that the title doesn’t get updated, do you mean in the search engine result pages, or did you check the title in the source of your pages?
If you want us to check, please send the URL to your page as well as the title you have set in Yoast SEO, so that we can compare the data.
Hi Rasmus,
This is the intended behavior.
The Search Index Purge plugin is supposed to add the attachment-sitemap.xml back, this is intentional.
The plugin does 2 things:
- re-enables the attachment sitemap, so Google will crawl all of the attachment pages URLs again
- sets a 410 status code for each attachment page (which may show as 404 on WordPress, but the HTTP status should be 410)
The sitemap is needed so that Google crawls all of those URLs again, to detect the 410 status code and remove them from its index. In ~6 months, when all those URLs will be removed from Google’s index, you can deactivate and delete the Search Index Purge plugin.
Hi @avantus,
Please send us the URL of the sitemap, so that we can inspect this issue.
In addition, please make sure that you are using the latest versions of WordPress (4.9.7) and Yoast SEO (7.9).
We are looking forward to hearing from you.
Hi Kammi,
Please update to Yoast SEO 7.9 and let us know if the issue persists. In addition, please also check if the XML Sitemap feature is enabled in SEO → General → Features.
We ask as the sitemap should’ve been able to load at this URL too: http://thehappykamper.com/?sitemap=1 (the result should’ve been the same as http://thehappykamper.com/sitemap_index.xml)
We are looking forward to hearing from you.
Hi @najiacenter,
Have you fixed the issue in the meantime? We’ve just checked your XML Sitemap and it works as expected:
