In reply to: [Astra] Child theme CSS intermittently failsI no longer have a valid licence so I gave up hope of getting support for these 2 websites that I used Astra on. Unfortunately they were both built towards the end of the year I had Astra Pro and I am no longer eligible for support. I won’t be renewing just to enable support. At some point I plan to transfer them away from Astra which is a pain because it’s not the client’s fault so it’s a big loss for me. One to be taken on the chin unfortunately.

In reply to: [Astra] Child theme CSS intermittently failsDid you ever find a fix for this issue? I’ve got a couple of sites built on Astra that constantly ‘forget’ the layout and I have to login and clear the caches multiple times a day. I’ve never experienced it with any other wordpress theme and have, subsequently, stopped using Astra altogether now but these 2 websites are a constant pain.
Hi. Yes I have seen this. For Logging in and Logging out, but nothing there for ‘After Registering’.
I can think of many uses for repeater fields like different allowing a business to add as many FAQs as they want or adding numerous bullet points or different prices, offers, products, etc… I have previously used ACF for this because the repeater field (a repeater containing whatever fields required) almost always comes in useful to enable the user (listing owner) a lot more flexibility, but I understand GD doesn’t support the inclusion of ACF fields.
Do you mean the tags in the html source? If so, I also had this issue and worked out a fix. Let me know if you are still struggling with this issue. Al the best.
I struggled with this too Rafax but figured out a combination of code snippets for SEO and OpenGraph tags. Let me know if you havenβt resolved it yet and maybe I could help.
Much better… π
What a dreadful experience!
You have mentioned a key point there too; the impact on OUR businesses when we can’t roll out the website because it’s not functioning correctly or the roll out is constantly delayed because of bugs.Good points. Some of these points I have omitted from my emails to them because of the extent of my lists of issues but you are spot on.
We can’t add HTML in the pricing plan description and can’t organise the list of features / what’s included in a price plan which is bonkers. Nor can we rearrange the price plans without duplicating one and redoing it so that we can rearrange the order in which they are presented on the website. Thank goodness for duplicator plugins to speed up this process.
It is extremely inflexible in many ways and inconsistent too; when you dive in to one theme (PHP) to make an edit or in the settings, then do the same for another Directorist theme, the settings differ and so does the PHP.
During some recent PHP edits, I found that loads of the PHP didn’t reference the correct theme (ie dCar was mentioned multiple times in PHP code for dRealEstate).
It’s clearly rather clever in what it can do but very unprofessional in how it is built.
Hi Nick. I’m confused by the 5-stars?
I have not had a great experience with WPWax / Directorist and have spent weeks ironing out issues in the PHP (number formatting, layout, spacing, etc – it’s a lengthy list) and have had to exchange dozens of emails – many of which get no reply – especially the ones that get ‘escalated to the development team’.
I can only assume it did not go through rigorous testing before being rolled out for sale and that is why, anyone who tries to build anything beyond a single directory with very basic feature set, runs into endless issues.
I appreciate your comments but bad number formatting, incorrect layout of checkout, poor implementation of usability and SEO, CSS issues leaving incorrect spacing, etc, are not ‘feature improvements’.
PayPal simply not working is not a ‘feature improvement’ it is a failure to fully test your product before selling them.
Failure to implement better communications (like different subjects on each ticket and getting back to customers promptly) are not ‘feature improvements’ they are fundamentally important to providing quality and recommendable services.
Finally, suggesting that you have reviewed all issues, this is not the case. The whole communication of the past several weeks has been fragmented, frustrating and extremely time consuming and not the consequence of ‘feature improvement’.
I look forward to being delighted with Directorist and an opportunity to upgrade my feedback and rating.
I couldn’t agree more. I have lost count of bugs I’ve found over a few weeks after buying the full bundle and the amount of unanswered ‘tickets’ and replies I’ve sent to their emails. They don’t listen, they don’t read entire emails, they don’t explain things, they ignore anything they can’t (or won’t) fix, and leave you hanging for days and days without a response. Directorist has amazing features and great potential but so buggy and inflexible with umpteen places for settings, language issues, etc. I could rant on… π

In reply to: [Frontend Admin by DynamiApps] Stopped Working CompletelyA superb reliable plugin that does exactly what it says on the tin and is well documented is worthy of 5 stars. A plugin that does not do what it says on the tin or stops doing so following an update, is, in my opinion, a 1 star plugin.
There are much better plugins that do the same thing but do it a lot better with a library of documentation so, while I hate offending people with honestly, as it stands, Frontend Admin is a 1 star plugin.
We will probably have to agree to disagree on this and I hope one day your plugin is rock solid and well documented. In the meantime I have removed it and am using ACF Extended Pro instead.
You refer to a support forum. Perhaps you could enlighten me as to where that is because it’s not on your website or accessed through the freemius dashboard?

In reply to: [Frontend Admin by DynamiApps] Stopped Working CompletelyCompletely stopped working following a recent update.
First the shortcode stopped working and I discovered the shortcode had changed following an update. Then none of the ACF fields were loading data into the fields from ACF.
It was saving new data but not loading whatever it saved.
Sent text and screenshots but the developer seems to have gone off the radar.
Deactivated, uninstalled then reinstalled and found than none of the data was removed when uninstalling so unable to do a fresh install). After reinstalling, the problem remains the same.
Unusable. Website ruined. Will have to find an alternative. The alternative I am now using is ACF Extended which is a solid product with extensive documentation. That plugin deserves 5 stars so how could I consider your plugin a 5 star plugin after the above issues and your dreadful lack of documentation?
What star rating would you like?

In reply to: [Frontend Admin by DynamiApps] Stopped Working CompletelyI’m sure you’ll get there with it. Just remember that we’re not all seasoned developers and (something I have to be aware of when building anything) while you know how to use it, don’t assume your users will figure it out. Numpties like me will get stressed and frustrated. Thanks for your help today.
