I really like this plugin and it still works on one other site of mine, but I’m going to have to go look for another plugin if “Ronald” or whoever doesn’t come around to answer all our queries here.

Thank you for posting this. I, too, got the alert from WordFence and went over to UpdraftPlus’ support forum to find several “me too” posts, and due to the admin there suggesting we report it to WordFence as a false positive, I came here to add my “Me Too” for what it’s worth.
Glad to know there’s nothing to worry about.

I regenerated new keys for the new version, deleted the widget as it’s no longer needed, and I see Russians hammering away at my contact form (at least 3 or 4 per day,) whereas I never used to get any of these.

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] Recaptcha V3I don’t blame you. This is infuriating. After upgrading and regenerating new keys and integrating reCAPTCHE ver. 3 with CF7, I’m getting MORE Russians hammering away at my contact form.
I must be missing something I’m supposed to be doing, but I’m lost.

I’m not understanding what Google means by saying that the latest version allows us to choose people who can post based on some score. What am I supposed to do? Go figure out which visitors have malicious intent somehow? How?
AND, Google doesn’t let you hide the little flyout in the corner of the screen.
What are we missing?

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] Contact Form 7 reCaptcha not showing up on modalsI see this began three months ago for you, and I can see the shortcode at the bottom of your contact form on the front-facing side.
Apparently the latest version of Google’s reCAPTCHA service no longer uses a “I’m not a robot” widget, so you can strip that shortcode out of there, however, I don’t understand how it works. I’m getting Russian spammers sending me emails.
Waiting to see how others are handling security on their CF7 contact forms.
What did you observe?

I’m going to mark this as resolved because this is my theme’s fault. I may need to modify my theme to have the right hooks, but a new theme would be a better plan all the way around.
I’m guessing other people stuck in the theme they’re using, might come to the same conclusion that I’ve come to: which is that my theme needs modernization. 😢
