In reply to: [Postie] Godaddy Migration IssueLatest update from godaddy… Bottom line they won’t support port 993 on Managed WordPress. I could move to cPanel but I’m pretty fed up with GoDaddy support so I’m moving my site to BlueHost.

We have reviewed with our Engineering team, our Hosting for Managed WordPress V2 platform has a more protective and restrictive environment for security reasons and, unfortunately, does not allowed to use outbound connections on port 993.
In this case, we will recommend you to check the settings of the plugin to use different ones or maybe another hosting less restrictive such as Web hosting plan with cPanel might be allowing you to use the plugin.

1. I called them as you suggested and asked them to check the IMAP ports are open. They said they were open.
2. After some discussion where they truly understood the issue they decided to open a case. The problem is now in the hands of the development team. Here is the latest update from Tuesday:Hello Morris,

Since I am now 4 days into this problem, I am heavily considering dropping GoDaddy and going to another hosting provider. One thing I think that happened when they did the migration was that the PHP version changed from 7.x to 8.x. I was curious if the PHP version has any impact on Postie. I’ve been using Postie for many years and really like it.

With an image displayed in the middle of the text.The image was attached and I sent using plain text email. In the body of the email was the example above
In my post I see “img1 caption-‘pretty kitty’ as the title of the post
The picture is in my post
I see [gallery] when editing the post in Text mode…I was hoping to see the caption added to the picture when I edit it in the media library.
Is there something else I need to do ?

I spoke with godaddy and was able to connect to godaddy email with Outlook using pop3 so I know the emails account was setup correctly. I used the email fetch program that comes with wordpress (it seems to go through wordpress.com) and it posted ok to my site. I disabled all the plugins and tried postie by itself after doing a delete/re-install of the plugin. And I bounced around with several themes. Nothing worked. I run another site that uses postie and it works just fine through godaddy connected to gmail. I really like postie but am clueless as to what could be the problem.

In reply to: [Postie] POSTIE V1.6.19I was able to connect to a godaddy email account on a implementation running a older version (1.5.19) of postie. I went back to that version on the install that is having the current problem but still no luck. One thing I noticed is postie seems to cache my settings and re-uses them regardless of the version I am using. How can I clean out that cache ?
