In reply to: [MyCurator Content Curation] Run AI on just one topic?Unfortunately it only works with all topics at this point. I’ll put it on our list as an option to run a single topic for the next update.

In reply to: [MyCurator Content Curation] Whole original article is being publishedThose are the correct options to set to show your excerpt on the single post page. If the option “Show original article link, not readable page?” had been set previously, then posts that you created would still have the link to the readable page embedded in them – and they will continue to show the whole article. Clearing the option does not go back and change those posts, it just affects new posts coming in.
If that is the case, you can edit the posts and replace the readable page link (has ailink in the url) with the original link, which should be at the top of the article in the saved page metabox.
If that is not the case, then please post a link to your website or send it by Contact Us on our site and I’ll investigate further.

In reply to: [MyCurator Content Curation] Nothing showing up in my Training Posts or PagesHi Michael,
You have cancelled your Pro Plan subscription on 9/25/13. MyCurator will not work without a paid subscription for more than one Topic.
You need to go to My Account on our site or to the My Account link in the MyCurator page in your WordPress Dashboard. There you will be able to resubscribe to your Pro Plan and again receive new articles from MyCurator.
I’ve sent 3 messages in response to your contact us and your direct email.
Please check your spam folder if you haven’t received them.Forum: Plugins

In reply to: [MyCurator Content Curation] Setting up Google News FeedsYou can check by going to the Logs menu item. You will see an entry for every article found by MyCurator. The Source column will tell you which feed it came from. Look for the name of your Google News Feeds in this column to see if any articles were found in the feed.
If you choose Process from the drop down named Activity, you will see a list of all of the feeds processed in the background. You should see your feeds in the URL field here. This log is much shorter to look through, but it only tells you if the feed was read, not if any articles were processed.
There are many sites that you can use to convert a web page to a feed. You could take a sites ‘front page’ of new articles and have it output a feed. Here is a great list from Robin Good on web pages to feeds.
They can be a bit techy, but worth a try.

In reply to: [MyCurator Content Curation] Setting up multiple, related topicsHi Jan,
1. Training does not affect the volume of articles as you’ve found. They all still appear. The classification does give you a way to ‘prioritize’ your work with good articles being the first to review, then the other classifications less often.
Using keyword filters will reduce the volume. Articles that don’t meet the filter will not show up on the training page. If you are confident in your keywords, this will certainly help. If there are ways to write good articles without using your keywords, you may miss some good content.
2. One primary topic with a lot of keywords in the 2nd field should work. The more keywords in the 2nd field, the higher the volume of articles that will make it through the filter.
Training across multiple related topics should still yield some benefit. You will get more ‘good’ articles than a narrow topic. As a way to prioritize, you should still see that the good articles are usually more on target than the bad.
A trick that may help is to ‘bias’ the training. If you train a lot more bad than good, the classification will tend to find more ‘bad’ articles. Similarly if you overweight the training with good articles it will tend to find more good ones.
Finally, doing the round-up at the end will certainly work. You’ll have to remember which of all of the multi articles belong to which post.
In a week or so we are coming out with Notebooks in our next release. This should make your round-ups much easier. You can save articles in multiple notebooks, then use them in a post just like the multi. It should be much easier to organize your round-ups that way.

In reply to: [MyCurator Content Curation] My Curator injects full article into postThe other way this can happen is if the Option “Show original article link, not readable page?” is cleared. This will tell MyCurator to use the full article in the Single Post page. Make sure that this Option is checked too to keep the full article out of the single post page.
This behavior based on the link to the readable page is active to support backward compatibility to earlier versions of MyCurator. When you deleted the link, that told MyCurator not to include the full article in the single post page.

In reply to: [MyCurator Content Curation] Setting up multiple, related topicsYes, that is exactly the way to think about it. The Relevance engine should be much better at distinguishing the different categories with training than if you try to do it with keywords.
You should expect a few articles that do get classified as good in multiple categories as training is not 100% accurate. Also, an article that talks equally about Solar and Wind energy would naturally show up in both Solar and Wind categories.
I would be interested in how it works out. When you have some results, you can use the Contact Us menu item on our site to send an update if you have time.

In reply to: [MyCurator Content Curation] Where do Multi articles go?I always like questions!
The Multi articles stay on the training page and they have a Class of Multi. You can use the Show All Relevance drop-down to filter just them.
When you are ready to use the Multi articles, you just Make Live any one of them (or use Make Draft depending on Options used). This becomes the ‘primary’ post in Draft and its title and excerpt are in the Editor. All of your other Multi articles are now displayed in tabs in the Saved Page metabox for this post. You can grab quotes and attribution from any of them.
The Multi articles all stay in your Training Page while the Primary article is in Draft mode. When you publish the primary article, all of the Multi articles are trashed from the Training Page.
