 * Hi all
 * Thank you for your help. I have fixed the issue, although I am puzzled as to
   why SSL affects this.
 * Basically I was running an old version of PHP on all these sites, so I have upgraded
   to PHP 7 and it seems to have fixed all problems!
 * But why non-SSL sites were OK?

 * Also a few more things:
 * Communication with WordPress.org WordPress.org is reachable
 * WP_HOME Undefined
    WP_SITEURL Undefined
 * Do we need these two variables set for SSL sites?

 * This is one issue found by the Health Check…Looks like this could be it…But why?
 * Scheduled events A scheduled event (wp_scheduled_delete) has failed to run. Your
   site still works, but this may indicate that scheduling posts or automated updates
   may not work as intended.

 * Thanks [@gappiah](https://wordpress.org/support/users/gappiah/).
 * I thought the auto-updates took place every 12 hours but obvioulsy not. When
   I removed SSL, the update happened within 10 minutes. It could be coincidence
   but i doubt it.
 * What I have done to remove SSL is this:
    – Changed general settings http:// instead
   of https:// on both fields (website and folder). – Removed the permanent redirect
   in web-config to redirect HTTP to HTTPS.
 * This is all. How could these two things affect the auto-update?

 * Update:
 * I removed SSL from another website and now it has updated automatically, so it
   IS the SSL configuration that prevented the update.
 * Does this provide more information? What does this point to please?
 * Thank you

 * Hi
 * I have attemtpted the following: added the lines in wp-config (DIR1 and DIR2
   are placeholders for real directories)
 * define(‘FTP_BASE’, ‘DIR1’);
    define(‘FTP_CONTENT_DIR’, ‘DIR2’); define(‘FTP_SSL’,
   false);
 * Also, I have removed SSL on another site jsut to see if the automatic update
   will go through this time. Waiting to see.
 * Is there any easy way to trigger the automatic update?
 * Thank you

 * By the way…if there is a wordpress developper on here (:-)) it would be really
   good to have a “updagrde” button to upgrade to the next minor release. At the
   moment there is only one option and is quite limiting…

 * Hi George
 * I have not done so as updating to latest version 4.8.3 is a bigger upgrade step
   and I would need to plan ahead before running this.

 * Hi
 * Thanks for the suggestion.
 * I have created a brand new News Ticker, typed the first Tick in Visual editor
   mode, then added another one and typed the content of this new one. I then saved.
   After saving, the second Tick did not show anything. When highlighting the text,
   it then shows (as if the text was written in white on white background) as HTML
   code (even if I am on the “Visual” tab.
    I never in the process went back and
   forth to HTML editing. Just to clarify: I never clicked on the “Text” tab. Always
   stayed on “Visual” tab….
 * Could you reproduce this issue?
 * Thank you.

 * Hi
 * Thanks for looking into this. Saving the ticker does not solve the problem.
