@threadi Thank you for the quick follow up! cPanel is running on my host provider’s server. I appreciate the suggestion to disable comments, I will do that! In terms of your other comment, I will add that I’ve been going through similar posts on Local’s forum and it seems as though Local sites *can* be accessed if the computer isn’t behind a firewall. At home I’m certainly behind my router’s firewall, but I occasionally work on my site at a cafe that has an unsecured network, so maybe that’s the source of the comments.

Thank you all for replies. Here are some answers to your questions:

@wpmudevsupport12 I will be sure to look into this. Forgive me but how would I determine if the wp-config.php pointed out to your local database? Also, I assume you mean wp-config.php for my local site, but wanted to be sure I understood. Finally, let me clarify the creation of my site: the site has never existed online. In Local I created a local site to which I loaded in my theme and plugins. From there I started building.

@threadi For synchronization, I’m not using any tools…In general, I only have a handful of plugins installed: Internal Link Juicer, Kadence Blocks Pro, Kadence Blocks, Kadence Creative Kit, Kadence Theme Pro, Starter Templates by Kadence, The SEO Framework, and UpdraftPlus. I will add that in cPanel I see activity under visitors. None of the visitors are me. Additionally, the website is password protected and in maintenance mode. Finally, I agree about posting to Local’s forum: I did that just after making my original post here. Alas, no one has responded yet. Here’s a link to a screenshot of the activity I’m seeing: https://cleanshot.com/share/l9JJdL33

Thanks, @litetim! I do have one follow up question for you regarding caching. Let me give a little context first, though. My goal in using a CDN is to speed up load times. My understanding is that caching is an important component to a CDN’s ability to serve content quickly. My host is SiteGround and so I am using their caching plugin. My understanding is that a caching plugin like this is different from a CDN’s caching abilities in that SG’s plugin caches info on SG’s servers whereas a CDN’s will cache info on their own servers.

With all of that in mind, how would I best go about using QUIC.cloud’s caching? Is it fully intertwined with LS Cache?

@litetim Thanks for your reply! My server is not LTS. I hear you on using just 1 plugin for optimization. Ideally that’s what I would do. What I have found is that, although there is a lot of overlap between optimization plugins, they don’t all cover the same tasks. And so, to cover my bases, I am using two. I can assure that I have set them up such that there is no overlap–i.e., only one is handling caching, only one of them is handling heartbeat, only one of them minifying java and CSS, only one of them is handling fonts, etc.

I appreciate your suggestion to set up a staging site to test out the optimizations. Considering my current optimization setup (and that it is working well for me) I don’t need the optimizations offered by LSC, and so I would rather not go through that process–especially since my goal is simply to access QUIC.cloud’s CDN.

Considering all of this, do you have any recommendations for settings such that all optimization settings are disabled in LSC? I’d like to avoid conflicts between my plugins! Again, I assume that I simply need to set everything to “off”, but I want to be careful considering that I already have other optimization plugins doing their thing.

    Thanks!
