Thanks for the response. I have played with this but clicking on hide from home page doesn’t work because I don’t have a home page with posts (???). The hide from category works but doesn’t help me in this situation.

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately the site is being built with a .local address on our server and so I can’t share it. I will have to change the page to a ‘normal’ page rather than a ‘category’ for now.

I have played about with the site this morning and I can’t find any problems with the plugins that I have installed. Here is a screen shot showing the different typefaces. On the left you can see that the typeface changes when I am in customise. The image to the right shows the typeface as it should be. The serif font is the one that flashes when I click a menu link.

Thanks for the response. I visited to permalinks settings and changed it from ‘custom’ to ‘name’ and saved the new setting but unfortunately the page is still missing.

Thank you for your response. The site is currently under construction and is hosted with a .local address and so is only available within the college to view.
I’m not sure how I can show you the issue? Maybe we could try using the alternative child theme with the front page sidebar that you mentioned?
I will also try to eliminate any issue with plugins that may be causing it as I did have an issue with an accordion plugin that was used on one page that shifted the content of the homepage around too????
