In reply to: [(Simply) Guest Author Name] (Simply) Guest Author Name VulnerabilityHello,
Thank you for pointing this out. I checked the database and I do see that there was an issue reported. The issue has not propagated yet and I have not yet received the email from them that would allow me to duplicate the issue and report to them that it has been fixed. (Therefore, I know that there is an issue but do not know what the issue is ).
I am investigating and believe that all of my output properly escaped. I have not been able to determine what the issue is and am waiting for a report. If you have details beyond “cross script”, please let me know. The issue would almost 100% be on the admin side and is reported to be “low risk”.
You indicated that there is more than one issue. I only see one issue reported. If you have details that would enable me to duplicate them, I would appreciate it.

In reply to: [(Simply) Guest Author Name] 4.36 is vulnerable to Cross Site Scripting (XSS)Patchstack hasn’t posted any details yet. Did they give you any details? It doesn’t look like a high priority issue and as far as I know, everything is escaped properly. I will probably have to wait for their email unless they gave you specific details.

In reply to: [Featured Image Thumbnail Grid] version 7.01 screws my siteHello,
This plugin is almost 15 years old and was written during a simpler time. Recently it was pulled from the WordPress repository for a security issue which I have tried to correct. As a consequence, other things broke. Because of the security issue, I can not roll the plugin back to a previous version. I will attempt to correct the resulting issues. Thank you for your patience and understanding for the work that goes into providing this free plugin to you.

In reply to: [Featured Image Thumbnail Grid] Some necessary code improvementFair enough. I had to update the plugin because it was pulled from the repository. If you feel like letting me know what the errors were I will fix them if I have time. Take care!

In reply to: [(Simply) Guest Author Name] Fetching Guest Author MetaI am really not clear on the issue. The author url should work on a post, out of the box. Try another theme to see if it’s working on that theme. If not, let me know more about your theme.
To clarify, you are writing custom code and not able to retrieve the URL for the guest author? If this is the case, your code looks correct. I do not have enough information to figure out what is going wrong.
