 * It works with woocommerce for the catalog and product picture but it doesn’t 
   work with the image variation neither with the plugin “Variation Swatches and
   Photos”. Below is there reply :

    Thank you for contacting WooThemes! I’m sorry to say that Variation
   Swatches and Photos does not currently support retina display images nor the 
   plugin you are using. I’m really sorry about this. If you’d like you could add
   this to our ideas board: [http://ideas.woothemes.com/forums/133476-woocommerce](http://ideas.woothemes.com/forums/133476-woocommerce)–
   that way our developers know what solutions our customers need as they can be
   voted up and prioritized based on demand. Thanks,

 * because the images resized and compressed by wordpress are very poor quality (
   blurry) compare to the @2x files and they almost are the same size in Kb.
 * Any help is much appreciated 🙂
 * I’m fairly new to WP so maybe i’m missing something.

 * Hi,
    The file created by WP retina 2X is too heavy ( 774Kb) compare to the original
   image (294Kb). it takes too long to load. i would like to know how i can control
   the size of the file generated by WP retina 2x.
