Hi,
Yes, Optimole strips the Exif data. Can you give me more details on how this affects your SEO?
Thank you!
Hi,
Sorry for the confusion, the generic placeholder is in the lazyload tab, you can find it here http://snpy.in/qeNpWs
Regarding the resize, by default Optimole does the image resize based on the images defined in your WordPress instance.
However, the automatically scale based on the device screen is done together with the Lazyload feature.
Let me know how with goes.
Hi @ahillstead2,
Unfortunately this is not possible as those two are connected.
May I ask you to try to enable the Generic placeholder setting in the plugin settings -> Advanced -> Resize tab?
Also, make sure to have the latest version of v2.2.2
Let me know how it goes.
Hello @ianmills78,
I have checked your site and I’m not able to find any non-secure URL there.
Regarding Optimole image URLs, it’s rather impossible for those to be served from non-secure URLs as we force https on all links.
I hope this helps !
Hey @freq32,
Indeed, the links reported are from the placeholder images, however, I don’t see an issue if we increase that to 1 year.
I will make sure to add it in the next release, in about 1 week.
Thanks
Hi @freq32,
Only the SVG placeholders which we use for lazyloading have a cache of 30 days, all the optimized images use a 1 year cache lifetime.
May I know more about your use case and why do you need this?
Thanks!
Hello @garnetfox,
Search Engines will be able to get the original image even if you lazy load them.
The lazyload mechanism is not something new or invented by us, it’s a common practice and recommended by most of the Search Engines.
I hope this helps.
Hello @chrisborgman,
There is such a rule in place to avoid expanding the rules to unwanted files also.
However, the rule applies to the full URL of the image, not only the filename, so you can extend the flag to /ms or something similar to target this better.
I hope this helps.
Hello @amitcs985,
Not sure what happened, but the only way right now would be to delete the optimole-wp folder from your wp-content/plugins using your hosting panel or SFTP.
Let me know how it goes. I will standby if you need any further help.
Hello @amitcs985,
That’s strange. Are you using the latest version of 2.1.1?
Can you try to disconnect and reconnect your account in the Optimole’s WordPress dashboard?
Hello @oacdev,
Can you get in touch with me at https://optimole.com/#contact and I will have a closer look at this.
Looking forward to helping you!
Hello @koushik001,
That’s not much we can do for it. I would recommend you to use SVG images for those kinds of icons and the images should also look better and GTmetrix will love it too.
I hope this helps.
Hello @djcelo,
Do you have any plugin for SSL redirect or similar? It seems that either the slider plugin or any plugin is stripping the https scheme from URLs, causing the images to fail to load:
Do you have any staging site where you can turn off all plugins except Optimole and Revolution Slider and see if it solves the issue?
Thanks !
Hello @espacemusculation,
That’s strange, can you get in touch with me on https://optimole.com/#contact and send me the error.log from the server? It should some there some relevant information on what could cause the issue.
Thanks!
Hello @maryb1,
Yes, Optimole will generate the retina images based on your original images, but the retina image will not exceed the original image size.
I.e if your original image size is 1000px in width, and you use that in a 500px container, the non-retina users will receive a container-sized image of 500px, and retina ones will get 2x the size of the normal one, i.e 1000px.
I would recommend you to upload images in the size in at least the retina size of them and we will take care of the rest.
You don’t need any specific naming of them, i.e
@2xor something, that is not necessary. For WebP, yes, Optimole will serve the appropriate format for each browser, indifferent of the original format, i.e JPG, PNG, etc.
I hope this helps.
