And those are just the pure woocommerce bugs. I have not opened tickets for woocommerce / paypal bugs.

If you check my bug reports, the only tickets that are close, have been closed without resolution just as not planned (some are closed as completed even if they aren’t).

Anyway that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

The real problem is the missing basic features that are sold as paid woocommerce extensions.

Subscriptions? Addon 250€/year

And so on.

Tracking number and PDF invoices are really basic features. Saying ‘one has the flexibility to extend it with what actually fits the business’ is so infuriating. EVERY shop that sell non digital products needs tracking support. Virtually EVERY shop needs some sort of PDF invoice.

So no it’s not flexibility. It’s PITA.

It is clear to me why it does not work. But it doesn’t work while it should.

Customers do not care about why it does not work. They care that it works.

This should be a priority for the dev team because it creates bad situations. Where users think they are going to pay 100$ but instead are charged with 100€.

It makes Paypal plugin feels like a 1 man plugin. For paypal it is not acceptable that it does not work.

If you cannot change the paypal plans and must use existing API, then you must find work-arounds.

And one work around is what I have just given you before. Just created multiple Paypal plans for 1 woocommerce product. 1 Plan for each currency.

I have seen those. But none of them matches the email title nor mention the (admin email) so I wondered if it was missing from the addon. But I guess it’s one of those emails then.

Well I finally found what is happening.
The URL of my web is
https:://www.astocad.com/
While the URL I have put in the product pages are :
http:://www.astocad.com/somewhere/myfile.7z

See the difference? One is https the other http…
After changing my files URL to https then it works.
Somehow I think that Woocommerce should catch this and fix the URL automatically if necessary. Or add a notice about it near where we add the URL on the product page.

So it appears that this is actually described in the main page of the doc :

Force Downloads – File downloads are forced, using PHP. To ensure files are protected from direct linking, Force Downloads can be used. However, if your files are large, or the server is underpowered, you may experience timeouts during download.

That is exactly what is happening apparantly. So if the connection speed is such that download takes more than 3 minutes, then it fails.
That is a serious limitation of downloadable products…

I have enabled logging and will let you know when this happens next.
Here are a few of what the customers report :

I purchased a standard membership through PayPal. After the payment was complete, the checkout page stayed visible and nothing happened. I do not have an account.
