In reply to: Unable to Log in — “Private Zone”This same problem is happening to me, only instead of “Private zone” I see “Magic”. Apparently, WordPress has been hacked and it appears to be users running versions 2.8.1 and below.
All my plugins have a long code added in the first line. Check your plugins and I would assume they are corrupted.
“Just found that ALL the main plugins files have a code injected as the first line, again encoded.”
I looked at my plugins and all see to have a long code inserted at the beginning. I uploaded a new copy of one plugin and found this coding was not present. It would appear as if the Trojan is corrupting all plugins.
I deactivated all my plugins and I still cannot get past the Authentication Required block to editing and posting new blog entries.
I’m having the same problem. I just went to put up a new post and received a dialog box stating “authentication required” and it also says the site says “Magic”. All the usual usernames and passcodes will not get me in.
Are users who are running WordPress 2.8.2 having this problem?

In reply to: Stray Quotes triggers a fatal errorWhere do I change the fonts within Stray-Quotes? I much preferred the original fonts to the new ones.

In reply to: My Spell Checker not workingI have the latest version of Word Press and the spell check is not working. I do receive an indicator (red underline) the word is not spelled correctly, but when I right click on the word, what comes up is a cut, copy, paste, etc. option, not optional words.

In reply to: [update] Custom query string (CQS) updated for WP 2.3.x“The well known (and now orphan) CQS plugin has an updated version, v2.7.2 that works with WordPress 2.3.x.
You can download it here.”
The link appears to be broken. I was not able to download the material of interest.

In reply to: HTTP Error loading imagesI have had the same problem using Firefox. However, I can get the images to load using Safari.
If you are on a Windows machine, try using another browser. Also, I read on here somewhere one should delete cache memory. I did that and it created other problems so I restored all the cache files.

In reply to: WordPress Editor stuck in HTML ViewThe same thing happened to me this morning when I cleaned out the cache of my browser. I immediately used Time Machine on my iMac to back up to the latest update. That cleaned up the problem.
Did you happen to delete cache on your browser?

In reply to: can’t upload imagesJoel et. al.,
I am having more problems with the latest version of Word Press. Firefox in particular does not want to accept images. I am on a Mac so I go to Safari and that seems to work.
There seems to be many more bugs with Version 2.5.1 than the older version of Word Press.

In reply to: Theme changed by itself????I have also had the theme return to the default. This seems to happen when I have been drilling down into the stats area. This has happened enough times that I just automatically check the theme before I leave the site.
What I now need to do is record exactly how this is happening.
