https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/user-verification/advanced/version 1.0.39 is the stable version before we made huge change. until we investigate your issue I would recommend using older version if it was working fine.
Also please send me a screenshot about your issue, i will try to resolve it.

In reply to: [User Verification by PickPlugins] Ensure backwards compatibility#1. we have managed email template issue, old email templates should import automatically after update version 1.0.44, old email template option still on database, let me know if you need help to get back.
#2. you can still select verification page where it should happen and in our experience, lots of people forget to set up plugin and not creating verification page before trying and we received lots of support regarding this issue plugin is not working, that’s why we move to popup verification and redirect after verification still there, user will redirect automatically after completing verification.

HI, could you please save the settings and again and make sure you selected option correctly.
we don’t have any settings to resolve email blocking by Google, i would suggest you please consult with your hosting company, hope they will suggest you.
